Have you had buyer’s remorse for purchasing a house?

I am a landlord by trade so I would like to provide you a diffrent perspective. If tou can pay 25% more on your house payment and save 25% of your monthly income, you can do something financially sound in about five years. On my first rental, I actually had to get a roommate to share the house. I gave him two bedrooms and full bath. Turns out the 62 year old guy was a cross dresser... BUT great payer and neat.

He paid 1100.00 a month which I banked for two years. This put me in position to but a needles on the ground and gun shots in daylight home and move there. I rehabbed while living there and rented the first house out for 2000.00. Your first house is your rental or a spring board into what I did. It wasn't long after that... I got a Business partner who need my skills and I needed his money.

Start small BUT start !!! 10,000 plus in monthly income is nice...5000 split actually...

That’s awesome. I’m not in a position to have any kind of roommate/renter because I often have my nieces staying with me.
However, I put a decent down payment and got a hell of an interest rate. I also got this place for a great price and have made some minor improvements that have already increased the value of my house.

That’s great! Did you buy it new or ever have to do any renovations?
I’ve had renters remorse too! Apartment living was horrible but I suspect it might have been better if I had chosen a different area.

I have definitely had this feeling on rentals. And omg is that a sick-to-the-stomach feeling, once that 1-yr lease contract is signed.

For a house... what I learned is that buying a house on a hill (or slope) is not for sissies. Nope. Buyer be educated on that.

Yes— I understand the rental situations. Horrible landlords in some. There’s a small slant in my kitchen OR my stove is unbalanced. Only noticeable when I’m cooking and one side of the pan cooks faster.

Yes because only discovering problems with the house that the inspector didn’t notice or care about. The main one is all electrical outlets are Loose! And for some reason some are hard to plug into.

I’m happy with many things. The minor ones are just frustrating.
A few good neighbors that look out for us so I think I have some positives.

I didn’t think I would ever be in a position to buy a house, but the landlord wanted to sell this place and get rid of it. They didn’t make any profit. They just sold it to me for what they owed.
Some of the repairs are fun, but others are aggravating.
