I had a bike which I bought for$175 for 9 years but it needed a chain replacement so I called a place, and they said it would be 80 dollars with a new cassette. I went in and the employee found more "problems". Well turns out the bike is now at $125 dollars and the repairs are all done. Should I just buy a new bike instead of trying to repair this old one? Do you think I've got my money's worth for it? I never had to fix this bike other than minor things but the affordable place I went to closed. I didn't even know prices for bike repairs could go so high. I did find out that these bike shops have clubs, and they require monthly membership payments. I'm guessing that's part where my money is going to support these bicycle clubs. I've paid less from a mechanic on my car.

I'd do some research first on how much the parts are and if you can find a co worker or someone who can help with a cheaper price because they might just be charging more for the labor part than anything but if does cost that much maybe a new bike would actually be better
Get the old back and sell it for whatever you can get for it. Then go by yourself a Specialized name bike and you will never buy another bike the rest of your life. I love my Black Specialized bike mine and it is 12 years old now.
I say treat yourself by selling the old bike and buying a new one.
