If you were rich, would you do philanthropy? If so, what kind?

All kinds.

I would try to reform society from the ground up starting initiatives that really don't care for anything but people and rigorously monitoring them for those who might use what I am doing to indulge in their weaknesses and throwing them then out.

Such as establishung general societal competence not on the level of simplistic ideologies but on the level of upheld humanistic world view and multiperspective reasoning.

In other words, I'd change the world at least locally. To a place where humanistic reason governs life and no populistic ideals of having political might or money respectively luxurios living and a mindless mob following the ones who know how to play the human strings.

Donations and maybe free house cleaning or hiring disabled people for jobs such as cook or driver or gardener and paying them generously. Maybe buy them cards and birthday gifts.
