Say you just don't pay at all. Say you got ripped off and something cost $200 are they going to go through the hassle of taking that to court or does it just get sent off to collections and whatever they collect is what they collect?

Pretty much you can take it to court or contest that you didn't get the product as advertised and if your credit is high enough and can prove the fraud they can just rip it out of the poor sob who ripped you off and credit you in full. And since its 200 dollars and it would go to low level courts chances are if you push for legal action the seller is gonna run as anything over 20 dollars at least in the states can be grounds to have the original amount credited and if they screw around in court the judge can also go in your favor and make them cough even more up if they cause a disturbance in court in like fees. XD.
As to the question of defaulting on the payment and collections picking it up well, in short you would get intrest on it and atm I think the combined interest would be like a 65% interest on the 200 dollars per month. Which unless you want to have to owe even MORE money I wouldn't do. As 130 dollars per month compounding is something I would never want held over my head.
(Credit I have a credit score north of 760+) Granted its the only card I've had for maybe 8 years but being 26 I'd say thats impressive.
Yeah pretty goes to collections after awhile and ruins your credit
