Have you tried Facebook marketplace? Is it worth it? Any alternatives?

I am trying to get rid of some drawing tools I used in college but don't need anymore. I'd like to make some money but I don't know the best way to do it. Do you like Facebook Marketplace? I'd preferably do cash but if not, is PayPal good? I just don't want to attach my bank account to anything.

I have used Facebook marketplace to buy and sell stuff. It worked out well for me. I met with the person either at their house or in a public place with cameras to exchange the item. I only bought locally ( within 200 miles).
I have also used Craigslist to buy and sell. It was also a pretty good experience

I haven't had any problems. You do get the usual " tire kickers" regardless of what you're selling, and the lowballers. I always ask more Mon than what I want for something so there's wiggle room on the price

FYI Facebook marketplace does not charge you to sell your items until you sell the item. Also, remember any financial transaction will be reported IRS so at the beginning of tax season you will get a 1099-K to report your transactions on your taxes. If the IRS issues a 1099K you have to report it. Now there are ways to skirt around this by not marking the item as sold but as not sold.

Yes, my husband and I have used it quite a few times. It works out pretty well, especially if you live in the area with a lot of people.

Yes, I sold a trailer last year and a couple of weeks ago I sold an air conditioner. I posted it and in a couple of days I had plenty of people wanting to buy it.
