I didn’t have any toys as a kid (tho I built a tree house with my great grandmother and we played musical instruments) she passed away suddenly stroke and in my new situation there was zip

but as an adult I LOVE exercise balls bouncy chairs trampoline shoes kick scooters giant beach balls star gazers frisbees skate boards pogo sticks maps are kind of like toys to me bc I make elaborate running games out of them basketball chess calculators the game “operation”

these are all super fun to me 🎈

I only had one Barbie doll in my life which my father lovingly bought from the city which was 8 hours away. And this scary looking doll with a broken porcelain face. 🤣 and the paper dolls I made with my childhood friends and we’d play with them all day long

My older siblings' Playskool Pipeworks set.

I don't know which specific kit they had,

there were a bunch of different ones

but you could build them into a zillion different things; it was like a life-size set of Legos. And it all clicked together with this little wrench that even kids could use, so you didn't have to get your parents involved. At one point, my sister and I tried to assemble the world's biggest pillow fort.

Kids today have to settle for doing digitally what we got to do physically. It's kind of sad, really.

Plastic dinosaurs. My sister and I also had a Flintsones set with houses, cars, plastic trees, the Flintsones and Rubbles, and a plastic sheet that had streets and house plots. I remember both of us enjoying that a lot. We would add rocks and dinosaurs.

Toy guns. A pair of Fanner Fifties with holster when I was little. And later, friends and I would run around the neighborhood playing "army" with WWII stuff.

Model airplanes, especially WWI.

I had a radio that was also a low powered AM transmitter. I could broadcast from my bedroom. I was able to attach my tape recorder to it as well.

Interesting. I had a radio like this too, when I was 10. Every night, I broadcast neighborhood news to nearby listeners. The transmitter was only 300 mW. It was fun pretending to be a network newscaster.

@AviatorTom I was able to put a couple of headphone jacks in it and I had a pillow speaker that I used to use to listen at night. I was working on it one day and I had the back off it. My brother came in and threw something in it and smashed it.

I had a Flexible Flyer sled that I used to take to the sledding hill in the nearby park in winter, where I'd race other kids down the hill. My sled was fast.

My transformer toys. My parents gave them all to the poor when I was little because they said I had to make room for more toys I would probably get from family and Santa at Christmas. I swore that I would get my original collection back. It took a few years and 1980’s yard sales - but I pieced my collection back and then some. 👍🙂.

I had this water pistol that was more like a machine gun. It was battery powered and the jet of water that came out of it actually hurt lol

I remember the summer I got it, my brother was getting drenched by the neighbor kids from over the fence. I came out with this thing and took them out with this thing lol. I got one of them in the eye and he had a patch over it for the next 3 weeks.

I think they were banned soon after that.

When I was 18, I got an iPod and Kindle. Best presents I ever got, except if you count the house we moved into on my first birthday. Essentially my first birthday present was a house.
