I have a rich friend, who keeps giving me extravagant gifts. I’m from a wealthy family, but I don’t have any money myself. I want to be generous, but I don’t have the money for nice gifts. Should I just recycle any nice gifts I receive from family and friends, or recycle any gift cards or use them for shopping for her? Buy secondhand, originally expensive jewellery and designer clothes? I need suggestions.

Say, I would not recommend recycling gifts or giving secondhand stuff without telling her. That just seems kinda deceitful, you know?
Even though your friend gives nice gifts, I'm sure she cares way more about your friendship than what you can buy. Maybe make her something personal instead? Like, put together a playlist of songs that remind you of her, or write her a heartfelt letter about why you care.
Or do an experience as a gift - plan a day doing fun activities you both love, like going to a museum or cooking her favorite meal together. Memories are worth more than any gift receipt.
You could also bake cookies, do a craft, photograph something that inspires you - get creative with it! As long as it comes from the heart, she'll love that way more than any store-bought gift ever could.
Just keep it real with her. I'm sure she'll appreciate the effort and thought way more than price tags anyway.
Give her something she can't buy.
Giving secondhand vintage designer clothing or accessories is a great idea. That's what my wife gives me and she's found some amazing things. I have a YSL sweater that she found for $25.
Or make something for her, even if it's just home baked goods. If she cares about you that will mean a lot. If it doesn't, then she doesn't really care.
Or make something. She can't buy that either.
