Is a hammered purple glass tea set a nice gift for my mum’s birthday?

I was considering giving her that and some beautiful, handmade chocolates for her birthday. Alternatively, I could give her some chocolates and the little circular white gold diamond necklace that I bought her? I don’t know which to give as a birthday gift and which to give for her birthday.
