How to read mixed numbers in English?

Hello guys... since my first language is not English, I sometimes get confused while reading specific mathematical terms. How to read this mixed number in english: 2(5/3). This is a mixed number.

A mixed number is a number which contains both integers and fractions.

An improper fraction is a fraction whose evaluated result is greater than one. Or to put it another way, the numerator (number on top) is larger than the denominator (number on the bottom.)

2 (5/3)

The way you have written this, it is not clear if you mean "2 and 5 thirds" which would evaluate to "3 and 2 thirds"

or

if you mean 2 multiplied by 5 divided by 3. That would evaluate to 10 thirds. Or 3 and one third.

I suspect that you meant 2 and 5 thirds as a mixed number, not a multiplication. So the correct answer is 3 and 2 thirds.

This evaluates to 11/3. Since I asked about mixed number, it should be dealt like that. May be I don't know the method but I think there is no such way to write it properly on the web, that's why wrote it like this.

5/3 is a fraction, and it comes out to 1.667

2(1.667) = 3.333

two times five thirds, or you could just distribute and say ten thirds (10/3) or simplify that and say three and one third (3 1/3).
