As for me I love stray text messages & when people take the time to text me I take the time to communicate with them until they give up or say who is this. Someone’s coworker asked me a question & wanted to know if I was in my office & I told them I have killer diarrhea & I’m not feeling well & it might not be a good time to come to my office & when I see them I’ll tell them what is going on with me. Another person asked if I was going for a walk on my break & I told them yes I was & asked them if they could buy me some pretzels in the vending machine. As for you when you received the text message you should of had the person bake you a cake.

I've had WhatsApp message from a number i didn't have saved in my contacts, saying "I've been trying to get you all morning, I need to see you as soon as possible, I'm pregnant, call me please?". At first i was really flustered and my stomach fell through my ass, trying to think who it could be. I always bag up with casual encounters and couldn't understand what was going on. So i messaged back and said "Erm, who is this?" feeling bad about the fact that if it was in fact for me that i wouldn't know who she was. She just message back, "Don't mess about Jason this isn't funny and im in no mood for it!"
Phew, oh my god, nearly brought my lunch up. I messaged back saying, "Well congratulations, but thankfully this isn't Jason, good luck with it through!"
She messaged straight back saying how sorry she was and how embarrassed she was.
Shit me i lost a couple of years of my life in that 2 minutes lol

Not that often. But even funnier, over ten years ago when I got a new cell phone, I got a new phone number along with it. I got a voicemail from some guy who was trying to set up a swinging sex date with his wife, with another couple, with whom they had been doing this with before. He was from an area code across the country so I think he must've got the area code wrong. I actually got more than one voicemail. I should have called back and pretended to be the one who he was calling... LOL!

Then he and his wife would have gone to the person's house (who he thought he was calling), and they would have wondered what on earth he was doing showing up for a swinging party! LOL!

Someone accidentally gave me money through some kind of Walmart program. I think what happened is that they entered the last digit of the phone number wrong. I see something like
Text message one: You have received $40 from -
Text message two: please call me I sent this money to the wrong person.
I was at work when this happened and didn't see this for a few hours. But during that time, it had apparently already been figured out and the money was taken back.

Occasionally. They're normally not personal ones though. They normally come from businesses. The last one I remember getting was from a dentist's office confirming an appointment... not mine. I've also gotten similar ones from real estate agents, car mechanics, and politicians (not in my district).

A couple weeks ago, my SO sent me a text that was intended for a female friend of hers. Interesting part of it is that I was standing over her shoulder at the time, helping her compose the text and asked her (before she sent it) why she was sending it to me. In typical female fashion, she sent it to me anyway, and then later sent a copy to her friend.

Gotten a few random text interesting thing is I had the number for years and, I would often get text regarding a membership for someone in another state which I thought was weird this went on for about 6 months.

while someone messaged me randomly saying something about a kids birthday party, another time I had a someone messaging me about how they hadn’t seen this person in a while and they wanted to catch up, each and every time I’ve always replied back letting them know they have the wrong number

Since getting a new number I no longer get random text! best thing all the scammers have also stopped contacting me.

Hardly ever. One person said they heard I was in the hospital and wanted to know if I was okay. They thought they were talking to their father. Yet I know someone with the same first name, and I was in the hospital recently (when it happened). That was confusing for both of us until she mentioned that I was supposed to be her father, and she turned out to be 40, which makes it impossible for me to be her father.

I gt one of those emails that you have over $8 million dollars, I just need your bank account number and routing number so I can transfer it to you, and I get 50% of the funds for doing so.
