Do you answer calls from random numbers?

People think it’s weird that I answer random numbers. Most of the time they’re scams but you never know, it could be important lol

or I’m a manager at my job so lately a lot of coworkers have been asking if they could use me as a reference, so I answer just in case it’s a job trying to contact me about someone

If you're not a known number in my contacts I'm not answering.

Also, I don't give anyone the option to leave a voicemail as I'm charged to listen to them. From experience, none are worth listening to so I've turned it off.

If it's important I'll get a text, right? On that note and a serious one at that everyone asks why I'm unavailable and so busy all the time?

Truth is when one gets an unknown number one waits 56 years to receive a text just in case it was important. If after that length of time has passed with no further contact, then I'm confident it wasn't important. Only then may one return back to normal life again.

I have a call screener with caller id and most calls tell me what business is calling me if im expecting the call, if not ill look it up and if i can't find anything ill block it but i never answer to any number i don't know and i find myself not answering has lead to way less random calls i get like one or two a day.

I do for the most part since I've had my number for years and deleted people's number if we're not in close contact. I don't keep numbers of a former classmate, coworker or friend (sometimes even family members) who never reaches out to me first. I get tired of always reaching out because it feels one sided and I don't want to bother them.

I don't. I think people should introduce themselves in a text beforehand: "I'm X and wanted to talk to you about Y. If I may ask, when will you be free?"

You have a good reason to answer unknown calls but the average person doesn’t, I only answer them if I’m expecting an important call for an appointment of some sort. 8/10 it’s an annoying scammer.

Yes I usually do. I only get about one spam call a day and when I do, I just hang up. I just figure that it might be something important.

I don’t. I actually changed my number about a month ago and flipped the switch so unknown callers go straight to voicemail which I don’t have set up.

Nowadays a mobile number is given to a lot of companies as contact so it's common to be called by people you don't know. I rarely give out my landline anymore.
