How odd was my gift?

My boyfriend recently celebrated a birthday and I wanted to make him something. He's autistic and likes to solve the challenges that face him, like he sees them as a puzzle and tries to solve the problem. Okay so I went to an arts & crafts store and bought a wooden inside jigsaw puzzle piece , painted it his favorite color, and then I wrote out his name and birthdate with a sharpie and wrote in each puzzle end a personality trait about him. Creative, thoughtful, heart of gold, kind, smart, and autistic. He said it was "cute" and it's still in his car from the day I gave it to him. It's been a week now I don't really know if he legit likes it or I am overthinking it.

Aww, that gift was totally not odd at all! I think it was super sweet how you personalized it to reflect things he likes. With his autism, he probably really appreciated the thoughtfulness of it.

Most guys wouldn't put that much effort into their gift, so he's probably surprised but also really touched deep down. Calling it "cute" is his way of showing he likes it without getting too mushy about feelings.

Guys don't always know how to express thanks for nice gestures. But the fact he's kept it in his car this whole time means it really meant something to him, even if he doesn't outright gush about it.

Don't overthink it - you put love into making a unique gift just for him, and he's treasuring it. Sounds like you understand him really well. Keep being awesome, girl! He's a lucky guy to have someone who cares so much.
