What are some good luxury cars to buy used?

So I’m on the market for a new car I had a car it was my first and my biggest mistake was buying the wrong car I bought a Nissan and never again. Transmission blew out then I financed a Mazda but couldn’t afford to pay it anymore so now I’m back looking for a new car but I don’t wanna make the same mistake I made the first time. But I do still want something nice for pretty cheap if I can get a good deal I figured an older luxury car would be nice. I been playing it safe checking out some older generation Lexus and recently Acura since I know those are very reliable and I’ve definitely found a few for pretty good prices. But I’d like to know if there are any other recommendations out there as well as some good spots besides Facebook market place or Craigslist to find sellers selling their old cars?

I would say Lexus. I knew a few people that 04-06 IS300 and drove it well over 400k km. Original engine. Parts are costly up front but go the distance. As long as you do maintenance properly and on time then its worth it.

I was actually considering that model but when I compared the 250 to it with the same years the 300 is just as expensive even tho the 250 is a new model hell some were more expensive so I figured I’d go with the is250 or better yet the GS350 or 300 those models seem to be cheaper then the is lines which is weird cause it’s discontinued and a bigger car then the is line

It has a lot to do with interest. I know older jettas, acura and Hondas made in the 90s are more sought after then their 2000s counterparts well its that way where i am at least.

Maybe it was the type of Nissan you bought and the era you bought. Always gotta look at finer details, era, previous care if any. Lol. And sometimes just dumb bad luck. Ahhh Honda apparently has a strong reputation engine wise yet Nisan also I would've thought aren't that far behind if not almost equal - you know. Japanese engines

The trouble with cars is you can get a very good make of car, but it doesn't matter because it depends on how it was looked after and driven..
I suggest ANY car you go after, you take a mechanic or someone who knows about them to check it over for you first!

I wish I could take a mechanic with me but I don’t really have one that my family goes to exclusively. And I don’t really know anyone who knows a whole lot about cars so I’m kinda going on what I’ve learned from tips on YouTube. I usually check the condition in photos and once I have enough cash if I find one I usually try to get the vin at least that way a get a sense of if it’s been in any accidents or something.

Over here in the UK we have a pickup and rescue service if you break down.. (I know you do there too not sure the name) but they offer a service where you pay them fee and they will come with you and do a complete 140 point check (some places won't let them, in which case you know to avoid) Do they offer the same there?

Lexus is Toyota and Acura is Honda so both are reasonable options. But “cheap” and “luxury” don’t really belong in the same sentence, you get what you pay for
