Do you still use cash these days?

Question

Most of us use a debit card for our daily expenses, and maybe a credit card for bigger expenses. Or an app on the phone.

But do you still carry cash? I like to have a bit of cash for really small amounts like having a coffee. I think it also allows me to have a better control over those small expenses. It won't make much difference at the end of the month, but it's what I'm used to. You can call me nostalgic or old fashioned :)

My wife makes a good deal of cash at her job. She supplies me with some and I always have $50 or $60 in my money clip. She and I prefer to use cash as much as possible. We even use it for groceries and restaurants.

I have a debit card but I never use it for purchases because I don't want my bank account hacked.

My wife and I have two credit cards. One is her Costco cash back card that we use for gas and sometimes groceries and other things. She pays that one off each month so as to avoid interest payments.

I have a credit card with 1% interest rate that we both use for on-line purchases and sometimes larger purchases. I have about a $5,000 balance on that one right now and pay $200 per month automatically toward it. But the balance doesn't bother me with the low interest rate.

Here its still very much cash , although at the movies for example they dont take cash , cash is still prominent , its changing but it will not change as quickly or be like the West at this point , in Australia I rarely use cash , although I love cash , so very many benefits , cash must always remain , never allow them to wipe it out , thats what they want to do.

98% i will. Too much bullshizer happens when i used my card in a store, restaurant, etc. there's no lost money or waiting for that meal i paid for to catch up, it's pay up now and let me leave. Done. If i have to use my card at a place when i have cash and "it's our policy", go fuck ya self, bud.

Yep I always carry cash and I use it often. Most local places give you a discount for paying cash since merchant fees have risen so much. I keeps stacks of it in the safe.

Yes. I haven't carried a wallet for over a decade (men, STOP the back issues & pain - ditch the wallet fucking up your posture).  I do carry cash / cards in phone case

Most of us? I have never used a debit card. I use house accounts and Apple Pay and I have a hundred dollar bill in the back of my phone which I've never had to use.
