I had 54 silver eagle coins that I bought about 8 years ago because I just felt like the economy was gonna go to shit again sooner or later. The silver price just spiked up on Friday but there was a long weekend because of pentecoste so I went to sell the coins today :). There's a very fair dealer in Zürich. Has a 4.2 star rating on google which is very high, cause it's easy for people to get pissed off about money. I paid 1050 swiss francs back then and today I got 1512 francs which is very nice :) I bought some Sushi to celebrate it was very tasty.

Good for you. Nice to hear a good news story.
Today has been a nice day where the weather showed up for my ride into work on my motorcycle and stayed ok for my ride home. It rained this afternoon but dried up later so I got to go to the gym since I didn't go for the last week.
Just eaten a rice meal I made last week that I froze then microwaved and enjoyed it immensely, so overall I think the day has gone pretty well.

Honestly, I'm troubled by the concept of money creating money like this. I feel like it's an abnormal usage of money, disconnected from value. Obviously I can say that for the entire world since we all rely, directly or indirectly, on financial speculation to get these societies we live in.

But I can't help it, it feels uncanny to me.

And I'm having fun telling this to a swiss citizen, evidently, due to history 😂

It's a good day here, I'm producing zero goods, but a lot of thoughts, while enjoying sunlight in the garden. This enjoyment partially made possible by the speculation of others, all around me. So strange lol

Gold and silver do have value, that's why people buy them in the first place. And if the value goes up then you get more money for it. I don't think the problem is that it's generating money, it's that money is losing value and so you need more to buy the same thing :). I think we'll be alright don't worry too much :)

That is an effective annual interest rate of around 5.2%, compounding annually for 8 years. Okay but not spectacular.
