I appreciate a comfortable home and nice clothes, shoes and a few pieces of jewellery, but besides that, I don’t need much to be happy. I feel like I could give up a beautiful hand bag or a lovely piece of artwork or an antique jewellery box if it wasn’t something I felt obliged to keep because it’s a family treasure and just feel relieved that it’s one less thing I have to take care of.
Whereas, my rich and poor friends and relatives alike, were delighted when I ordered a box of beautiful celtic book marks and offered them one each to keep, as a gift. Everyone got back to me quickly and accepted one, with delight. I lack these feelings of delight. I feel like I could be happy with less. Although I like my things.
