Should I buy my mum diamond earrings now or wait until I’m debt-free?

I’m currently paying off new clothes on afterpay, which I needed and I spent probably over $1,000.00 on my mum’s milestone birthday recently. My mum has worked hard all her life and made lots of sacrifices for our family. I’d like to get her one more really nice thing, before I start cutting back on spending. I want to buy mum some diamond earrings.

The question is, whether I should buy them now, when I’d have to pay for them over time and for me, they’re quite expensive, or should I wait until I’ve finished paying off my new clothes, which are more necessary purchases?

Diamonds are pretty pointless beyond displaying wealth. I'm guessing she's elderly so why not send her on a cruise, let her see the world one last time.

You wait until you’re debt free, have an emegency savings fund and have saved enough money for the earrings specifically (on top of the savings fund) to buy them cash.

How would it have been any different under Biden, when prices were much higher, gas prices were much higher, taxes were much higher, the world was in much greater danger, our country was in much greater danger, and the president of the United States was senile and not even aware of what was going on for 4 years? Just listen to your question. If you have to do that it means you can't afford to buy them and there in nothing wrong with that. So you have to rethink what your going get her. What else does she like
