Should I still give her the beautiful pendant, or give it to someone else?

My mum said my cousin favours flashy stuff, as gifts, rather than valuable stuff. What I’ve chosen her is beautiful, but if she’s not going to appreciate it, what’s the point in giving it to her? I could give her a good book, or a blouse or flashy crystal pendant that I’ve already got..

What makes a gift special is knowing that the donor took time to select something appropriate for the donee, and that is is something that will be appreciated by the donee.

Yes we want our gift to be cherished by the people we give it to, but that is not always the case.
If you’ve notice the person not valuing the gifts you give them then just give them something that you wouldn’t care what they do with it.
