My friend’s coming over for a special Chinese lunch that I’m buying, with sparkling mineral water and ginger beer, to celebrate her graduation from business studies.

I’ve already given her a tea set; a bit earlier. Should I add in anything else, like a sparkly crystal necklace, or a sparkly sun catcher, or is that overdoing it?

Graduating is such a big accomplishment, but I'm sure your friend will just be excited and grateful to celebrate with her bestie! Sometimes less is more, you know? Let the lunch and your friendship be the real presents here.

If you really want to get her a little something extra, maybe a cute card where you write about how proud you are of her. Or a small dessert like her fave macarons. But anything more risks taking attention away from the meaningful time you'll spend together.

I say just focus on making memories with her over the nice meal! Let that be the perfect way to mark this milestone. Save the bling gifts for birthdays - I'm sure she'll love whatever you do. You're such a great friend!
