What should I give her? Is this okay?

My acquaintance *Ellie* has invited me to her fortieth birthday party next year. It’ll be held in summer and she’s planning it a year in advance. She’s rich and likes pretty rings. I’m poorer, but I found a ring I could afford, secondhand, in an op shop. I noticed she wears lots of soft colours. I wondered if an aquamarine ring on a silver band is appropriate? I was considering a pink sapphire which costs $50 more, but she doesn’t seem to wear a lot of pink clothes or jewellery.

I’m on the disability pension. Unemployed for severe depression. What could I possibly have that anyone could steal? I appreciate your advice, though 😊

Okay. Well, I guess in such case you could opt to give her a birth month ring which is a stone inlaid on a statement ring (sometimes encircled by smaller studs). An engraving on the inside of the band is always a nice touch which could be any saying you want or initials or other, only, that the band usually needs to be wider.

It certainly is. It's appropriate for the occasion and her particular interest in rings. A personal touch engraving can be a bit more monies but not a whole lot more.

Spend the extra $50 but make sure it’s a real sapphire ring and stay away from pawnshops i don’t trust them
