Is an aquamarine ring or pendant too much to gift TAFE friends?

They've helped me so much, back in the days when I had no clue how to download assignments with laptops. We're currently friendly but being under pressure from work placement and so many assignments and exams (there are more than there were in the year 12 HSC); I am finding that I'm closer friends with the Asian girls in my class, one Chinese girl in particular that I went on work placement with.

When I bought these gifts, months in advance, I assumed that it was a thoughtful gift that would be well received. Now that we're not nearly as close as we were, I'm wondering if I should give them something smaller and cheaper than an aquamarine pendant for one and an aquamarine ring for the other one. I have Asperger's Syndrome, which means when I'm in a new situation, I lack the awareness of what's appropriate and what's not, sometimes. This is one of those occasions. Should I go ahead and give them the gifts later in the year, to thank them, or buy something else instead, that is smaller, cheaper?

Since you have already purchased them who else would you give them to?

I would just give their gifts to them because after all, they did teach you the things that you needed to know.
