Why did Klarna refund only my $275 down payment instead of $625?

I bought something on ebay. The item itself was 470. After shipping it came out to be 620. So I checked out with klarna. The down payment was 275. It took that off my card right away. I ended up getting a refund and all 625 went to my Etsy credit. I needed the money for bills, not just Etsy credit. So i talked to Etsy and they refuned to original payment type which was klarna. I go to klarna, and it says total amount returned, 625. But refund is only 275, the amount i put down. I thought maybe the whole 625 went back into my bank account, so I went to my bank and all that was put back into my account was 275, and not the full 625. What gives?

A credit card, or a debit card? Don't ever buy anything with a debit card.

Did you pay the full $625 or only the $275 downpayment? They won't refund more than you paid.

I just paid the down payment. So do you think the rest that I owed just went back into my bank?
