If you are on a date or with a boyfriend or something and you say "you smell nice", then it's fine. We LOVE it because we put effort into smelling nice and are glad you noticed. However if its just a friend, a random guy or friend of a friend and you are just talking or give them a hug and they say " you smell nice" it's a little weird/ creepy/ awkward.

I think it is sincere but not 'the most' sincere. Actions are better than words so there are plenty of other action compliments you can do that are better. And thx for using what I said in the update...you could have rephrased it.

It's a nice compliment if you're interested in the girl or dating ...it's definitely a flirty compliment though,

It's not creepy by any means. Any girl who says that it is, is a prude. It's not like the guy is complimenting on their boobs. It's not a personal compliment.

I love it when guys tell me I smell nice, even if they're complete strangers. Who doesn't like compliments?

I think it's complimentary, as long as you're at least decently attractive to her (which you don't know if you are or not to her), and you say your thoughts respectfully.

"You smell nice" is better than saying "you smell delicious" lol. Save the latter for your girlfriend! ;-)

As guy I don't think there is anything wrong with telling a girl she smells nice if a girl thinks it's creepy then she doesn't deserve the compliment in the first place.

That's one of the most sincere compliments there are, I think. No one is going to lie and say you smell good when you really smell like sh*t.

Many girls second guess most compliments and assume you're just being nice or you're trying to get into her pants, but I think the "you smell nice" compliments doesn't give any room for doubt. Also, it's rarely heard, so it's nice to hear. I like being told I smell good, especially after a hug or something.

I love it when guys tell me I smell good, but I can imagine that if they said it a certain way, it could be creepy. I've never been creeped out by that before though. I like it because when a guy smells good, I'm so turned on, so I kind of assume it's the same for most people... and it's flattering to know you turn people on! lol

I think it would be a good compliment if you're her boyfriend or friend. A friend of a friend, or a random person I wouldn't advise saying that to a girl because it could be a little creepy.

Your question if asked differently would of brought about different responses. Tell a pretty girl in a decent way that she smells so lovely then she will be flattered unless you are very ugly, sloppy looking and she is shallow at all.
