Why are European guys particularly Spanish so flirtatious?

Hi, I went to Spain and Paris a few months ago and was shocked by how much attention I got from the guys in Spain... They were very flirtatious and completely different from the guys I've encountered here in America who pay me absolutely no mind. Is this a cultural thing? Are European men like this with every girl?

I don't know why, but European accents are particularly attractive, to guys and girls, and Europe has managed to brand itself as intellectual, cultured, and sophisticated. That and they named their own languages the "Romance" languages.

Honestly, I think a lot comes from a nature interest in the exotic.

Not all European guys are flirtatious: I have met some who are rather quiet and shy. But I think that the way top-level social interaction goes in Europe, particularly regarding body language and physical touch, is what comes off as flirtatious to American women who come from a more independent, keep-your-hands-to-yourself society.

Effectively, they push all the buttons that are normally reserved for closer relations in the U.S., which, coupled with the exotic excuse for ignoring cultural norms, makes American woman more easily attracted to them.

This in turn makes it easier for these men to step up their game and appear as masters of charm, in ways that likely wouldn't work on their fellow European females.

This makes them seem more flirtatious.

Europeans have a very romantic and flirtatious culture. They won't do it with everyone but if you catch their eye you'll get the flirtation. They are nice to everyone generally though. Europeans are more polite and welcoming then you usually see in America

Spanish guys are like this yes. If you're not ugly you're going to be harassed but they mean well. Those noises they make are supposed to be compliments. The women are also more likely to appreciate beauty in either gender. You'll here a lot of "guapo" and "guapa" all day. It's their favorite word whether they're referring to things or people. Why not.

The rest of Europe would be more like this than America but the Mediterranean countries the most. I don't think America isn't completely dead though. I visited California and got my fair share of attention. American's tend to take pictures of strangers they like the look of. It's kinda weird but they do it in every country they visit.

Depends on where in Europe you are. You can't think of Europe as a whole when discussing certain behaviors, especially if the behaviors are based on something cultural. For example, in northern Europe (especially Finland) the men are a lot more reserved and are not likely to flirt with strangers unless they're drunk. It's pretty rare here to get hit on by strangers who don't know you. Otherwise, it's sort of a hush-hush thing. You don't really flirt with people unless you're serious about having a fling or a relationship with them. So no, not all European men are like that. Some are, of course, but it really depends on which country they're from.

Yes'm, in Europe guys are much less inhibited, and think a lot of girls are on vacation looking for fun and a fling..and think US women will do almost anything. They're far from families and other restrictions..

The poor guys don't realize that while the US girls are not inhibited, they rarely have eyes for anyone but the wealthy, usually older guys, and will cut everyone else stone cold dead.

Most European guys are deomocratic and think they should flirt even with upper crust girls!

hmm if they know you're a foreigner, a lot of them of con men beware, when they get close to you enough to steal your women. There's a TV program who featured scams conducted in Europe. Conmen can get charismatic with their victims. The first thing they do to a woman is flirt to distract you from noticing your wallet is gone

well both of the girls in your pic are beautiful ;). so its only natural that guys would be flirtatious with u. the only difference: americans are cowards when it comes to flirting with WOMEN, not teenage girls. but euro guys apparently are the opposite: euro guys flirt when theyre adults. hahaha dont say its a cultural thing. any guy would flirt with hot tourist girls ;)

It's not so much FLIRTATIOUS as it is just the general form of communication. Europeans are very outgoing sort of people, esp in comparison to the prudish American standard.
