Honestly man its just experience. I don't throw up anymore and can drink pretty heavily. Just listen to your body or time your drinks, don't drink excessively in a short amount of time, instead if you take like a hard shot, or a few beers try to time yourself out from another set for about 30 or even 50 minutes depending on what you drank.

Only Drink Beer, since it gives you a slow buzz it helps you figure out what your tolerance is and how many you can have before you feel sick. Drinking shots is a huge no no as the buzz can hit you all of a sudden

Build up your drinking abilities. Start with a couple of pints. Then next time you're drinking, add a couple more pints to your total. And so on.
Also drink milk and eat greasy food before drinking.
Drink a lot of water every now and then while you're drinking.Don't mix your drinks, it's harder to learn how much it takes to get drunk. Also pace yourself otherwise you can go from a bit drunk to throwing up drunk before you realize.

Depends on what you are drinking. Find the right drink that will get you absolutely hammered but you won't throw up at the end of the night. Also drinking water at the end of the night helps too.
Don't drink drinks without bubbles, then drinks with bubbles after.
