What is a reasonable age to move out of your parents house?

At what age did you move out? Or what age do you think is reasonable to move out?

I finish university when I turn 21, but I also plan on pursuing my masters in nursing which will be another 2/3 years after I gain experience in my field of work. By the time I get settled into my career, have a steady income and enough money to pay off 50% of my house and other necessities, I think a reasonable age to move out would be 25. Any thoughts on this? I don't want to rely on my parents and I also want to have more independence and privacy.

I'm 22 live with my parents we both can't find a job we'll my mom& I and were just trying to move out and get a place of our own. My parents split up one lives an hr from me , we just want to get out of a relatives and get a place of our own but the area is expensive even for a one room apartment it's like 1000 for only one room.
So I want to move out but you have to have everything' together, money for bills , rent, groceries, you probably will need someone else to help you.
And I have family [cousins]that's older they are 24 and they tried. Living alone or with room Mates and they came back to my relatives place again / uncles
It depends. I have aunts and uncles that are 42 and still live with my gpa and gma.

I moved out at 18... and if I had my time over I would not do it again... I see many girls my age (28) at work who still live with their parents and they are travelling and saving and have nice cars... I have a mortgage (which is good) and bills and no money to do the things that they are all doing.

In my opinion, 18.
I'm an adult at 18, time to get out there and be an adult.
That's how I was raised though, I understand that others may not have been.

Whenever you can afford to. If you live in a location where it's like $500 month to rent a house then you can get out of there at 18 with a lousy job and still go to college and be on with your life. If you live in a place where a studio hole in the wall in the bad part of town rents for $1000+ a month and the cost of living is much higher, then finish university, get a real job and save up for a year or so and then move out. If your parents will put up with you (you have a good relationship) then your plan sounds fair enough.

My dad has been house shopping ever since I started uni. but apartments/houses in our area are really pricey and I wanted to move downtown since I go to school there but a small closet room is almost a price of a house. We're not interested in renting, if I move, I want to move out for good and properly invest in a home.

If you've saved enough then that's great. Not everyone can drop a 50% down payment on a home though. Where I live, the bottom of the market for a basic home is 300K+. Not a lot of people can drop 150 grand cash but like I said it depends on where you live. That doesn't even account for the ridiculous insurance rates, property taxes, potential HOA fees, and general maintenance. There are much more affordable housing markets then where I live. :)

Oops... I'll probably be one of the older people here who still lives with his parents.
I've always said to myself: when I'm in a serious relationship and ready to start a family, I'll certainly move out.
But although I've done much effort, so far I don't have a girl. And man is a social animal, living somewhere alone is absolutely not my thing.
I am, of course, contributing in the costs of the household but it looks as if I may be living in "hotel mammie" for some more time :-)

I think early to mid 20s is a good age. It just depends on your circumstances and if you are ready or not. will you be able to support your own living? etc...
as for me, i don't necessarily live with my parents but they're still supporting me (for food, uni transport, etc) and im 18 atm.

There's no age you really have to move out. However people are going to start wondering... as you get older, why you haven't gotten out yet. You can't rely on your parents forever. I personally can't move out right now because I'm degreeless, and jobless. Once I have one and or both, I'll move out... and not a job where I get it for a couple of weeks, the manager starts doing illegal shit, then I have to quit.. I'm talking a REAL job where I know I'm going to be safe and secure

I was 19 when I did. Got a job and moved out , it was the best feeling in the world at the time.

Yeah I'm sure it's the best feeling :) I'm just curious did you stay on campus, rent or actually buy a house?

I rented an apartment with a friend for awhile and then on my own and then with a friend and back and forth lol. I never went to college so it was always a house or apartment.

I wouldn't be able to move out at 25, that's too late for me haha. I'd personally prefer to move out at 21 or 22.

Probably about 21-22 , I think moving out at 18 Is a thing of the past. But even if you move out at 25 that's not too bad.

Usually by 25 people are in established relationships and that's hard to do while living with your parents

If you are truly career driven, you should be done with your parents house by the time you're in campus housing, or by the time you finish professional school.

I was out on my own by the time I was 21. Would have moved sooner but I was recovering from a near fatal auto accident.

You can get a decent job after your graduation and can support yourself.
