I was the last one out of the nest at age 20. I was kind of a late bloomer in that regard since I took a year off after high school deciding what to do with my life and all that. Thankfully, I had the wise, loving, advice of my parents to guide me. "Mom? Dad? Should I go to college?" , "Yes. Go. Now. There's the door. Here's 5 dollars for gas. Send a post card. We love you. Bye."
Back when I was younger most of us moved out on our own by 20-21. Now days there are 30- 40some year olds still sponging of mommy & daddy.
I would have thought by 21 it's time to leave your parents, but ideally get married first.
But for students perhaps younger.
For me it was much later, because I was in employment and studying at the same time, also saving for my own property.
I think everyone knows when it's time to make your own way in life, I don't think there is a set age to do so.
As soon as they're able to establish themselves on their own. No major rush.

I dont think its about age rather when you finish school and start working full time.
I was 17 right after I graduated from high school.
These days? Maybe 30-something
18 for most people I have known.
18 years old.
