At what age did you move out of your parents house?

I still live with my parents, but it's not a societal norm to move from your parents' house ASAP where I live. We live in a 4 bedroom house, so it would only be a waste of space for the house, and waste of money if I had to move. And I help them do stuff, and I give them money for groceries or bills, since we eat together, and I pay bills for what I use myself only, like the internet, I do plan to move though, as soon as I decide I need to form a family of my own. I'm currently saving up money to buy my own house.
17 in my case. I went out of state for university, and to the opposite side of the US after graduation. I was still pretty wet behind the ears though. Don't think I fully broke out the shell until a few years after.
Fortunately, I had lots of help from people to move out on my own, figure out how to do things, where to go, my father was a former accountant and helped me with taxes, etc. I was like, "Err, where do I go? What do I do?" I was really lost and overwhelmed in the beginning. It was kind of scary but thrilling at the same time.
Yeah I understand how you felt. Like I felt the same, going into it, I was kind of like "how do I pay this? What does this mean? Is that a lot?" Etc etc. I got the hang of things pretty quickly though, which is good 😊
I'm still like that occasionally, like when I move to a new area or when I purchased my home. I was like, "Err, what do I do? What do I sign? Where do I go? I have the money! Just... uhhh, how do I pay?" like some confused kid. :-D Being an adult is tough.
It definitely is! And I didn't realise how fast you have to grow up, like one minute I'm in school, next minute I'm on my own with a full time job trying to work out how to pay my power pill 😂 and how to afford to save up for a house but pay rent at the same time! It's craaazy!
It's pretty fun at the same time! But I'm lazy. Like I see people much better prepared them me. They show up knowing where to go, what to do. And I'm like, "Excuse me, where do I go?" Even when I go to the airport, I'm like, "Derp. What do I do again? Oh yeah, check-in. Now what? Oh yeah, go through that security thinger." I just keep asking until I'm at the right place. :-D
* than me
I think I have some sort of mental deficiency though. I'm very absent-minded and get lost easily. So it's like I've been on airplane flights like a hundred times but each time I get kind of lost in new airports. Then I try to check-in and wait in line and it's like, "Whoops, this is the wrong airline." Then I have to go start over and stand in some other line. :-D So I'm always that guy that is like, "Uhh.. where do I go again?"
And directions are hard for me to remember. Like if I need to go someplace, I get lost and ask someone and they're like, "Go straight this much, then take a left, then head down a few blocks until you see this sign, and take a right, then [...]" And all I remember is "go straight this much and turn left". So then I go straight that much and turn left and have to ask someone else. :-D
24, 25? Technically 18 when I moved into a dorm in college, but officially when I was in my mid 20s after I graduated college.
My mom wanted me to move back home after I graduated to save money and figure out my plans but I said no. I was used to being on my own, liked my independence, and refused to live at home again unless I just had to, lol. I was SO happy to be out on my own
I did for one year and then moved back in. I love the comfort of home and we are renovating everything so it’s all marble/restoration hardware and I don’t think I will have that in any apartment!! Plus it’s nice to have family and pets around.

I was 18 and still a senior in high school. My mother had become very abusive and an alcoholic so I left. I enlisted in the Navy during this time. Moved back in with mom before my last semester of high school when she sobered up. Then left for basic training at 19 years old.
Well actually my parents moved first from our family house and I stayed hahaha. I move at about 20-21 but I wanted to leave since 16-17.
I am over 40 and my late parents gave me the house I live in to give me and other family members or friends a place to live and keep up ! Thanks
I left at 18 but I had a baby and a husband so it wasn't a big deal for me to move out. I was super ready for it!
I officially moved out when I finished my BA at 22. I hadn’t lived there except summers since I was 18 though.
I was 23 and realized it wasn't right so I join the army. it really helps and I highly recommend the military for anyone in that same situation because they still take care of you but they teach you to take care of yourself.
18. I just moved into the dorm rooms at my college last week. Independence!
When I have more than 3 houses I will move out.
I only have 2 houses... Ok just one duplex which I rented out. So I still have 2 more to go before I can move out.
Left for Costa Rica on my 18th birthday, and when I got back a month later I moved across Canada.
I still live with my parents but i wsnt to have my own house by 25
I still live with them. I plan to move out eventually, but the economy sucks and the cost of living is expensive. It's not necessarily that I couldn't afford it but I'm just not ready to take on all that responsibility and stress all on my own yet.
My circumstances were unusual in that my mother passed away when I was 20, so I had to sell the house I grew up in. (Dad passed away when I was 13).
I left at the ripe age of 6 quite the independent kid I was, tired of being shackled down by their rules and ready to party, drink, and live with my boyfriend Bob
My parents kicked me out at 15 when they found my collection of animal hearts soaking in a jar of pickle juice.
damn hahaha 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
When I went to Uni at 18. I stayed at their house during the summers, and when I graduated I stayed there for a month until my new job started.
moved out at 20 but then i moved back in at 29 when i went back to school for my bachelors degree. i moved back out again for my masters though.
I‘m 18 , and I still live with my parents, but I’m gonna move out in a week. However, since last year, I low-key wanted to move out ASAP.
I officially moved out the week I turned 18, though the lease for my first apartment started a little over a month before that
Still live with my dad. I'm hoping to be out by the time I'm 20 though.
Mentally, I left when I was 16.
Physically: 21. Needed to finish school first
I know I will live with them always. There is no alternative.
I moved out at about 20 years old and moved back in at 22 years old. Moved out again at 30 years old and moved back again at 33 years old. I feel like I will die here.
I was 18 they were waaaaay to strict
Same
Yeah I know what your going through my mom wouldn't let me have any girl company at all and i had a 9 pm curfew at 17 i had to go
Ahh it wasn't that bad for me, I moved out like a year ago. But I was the only one in the family who was a bit more 'straight edge', like smoking weed and other "delinquent activity" (according to my parents haha). So I just moved out so I could have my own freedom a bit more + there was 6 of us in the one house so it could be a bit full on at times.
Few months ago after I just turned 18
