Now that's it's Ramadan for Muslims, males cannot even talk to girlfriends?

I've been seeing this guy for the past 6 months. I know him for a year. He's amazing. But he's Muslim but I am not. I am not religious at all. Please no comments about how I should convert because that's not going to happen.

We saw each other on Wednesday and he told me he would contact me later that day. He didn't. He hasn't contacted me since. I realized (too late) yesterday that it was the start of "Ramadan". I had spent yesterday texting him compulsively and being mean too because he would not respond.

I guess it's a time of fasting and repentance for him. I remembering him mentioning it weeks ago.

So is that why he won't speak to me? So he is not going to talk to me for an entire month? Or perhaps he is repenting so much that we are officially over because I'm not Muslim and we "fornicate" so my presence is too tempting for him? Time to move on?

As a Muslim male, males cannot have intimate relationships with females outside of marriage. Touching each other and looking lustfully at another woman who is not your wife is also not allowed, thats a basic summary.

As for your guy he doesn't seem religious but to answer yiur question, if him talking to you makes him look at you in a lustful way, touch you, say inappropriate things and cause him to sin (e. g. Masturbation) then he isn't allowed to talk.

If he doesn't have any of these problems he can provided they are not alone. But the guy you like doesn't seem religious so I doubt anything will change. Most Muslims get all pious in Ramadan but then after do what they were doing, hypocritical basically.

If he doesn't seem religious, the large Muslim population that lives here aren't either. Or the vast majority of young Muslims in the US.

Yes, the vast majority of Muslim youth in the US are not religious. Infact, a large majority of Muslim youth all over the world aren't religious.

As a Muslim, he must not have a girlfriend or any relationship outside marriage. Since he disregarded that, I wouldn't think he is really religious. Ironically, some ignorant Muslims commit all kinds of "sins" throughout the year, and when it is the Month of Ramadan they stop and repent, and then they resume their "sins" when the Month of Ramadan is over. As if they are fearing/worshiping the Month of Ramadan not the God. So I think he is this kind of Muslim -ignorant and not really religious. But don't worry, it doesn't have anything to do with you not being a Muslim.
