When a girl buys you a drink?

I know guys are generally know to pick up the bill at the bar, but how common is it for a girl to buy the drinks? I went out with my buddy and his friends for his 21st last night, and it got me wondering.

I myself am pretty insistent about paying for my own drinks (more so the more I drink), or if someone buys a round I like to pick up the next round. I'll even buy the occasional random a drink just because, but sometimes it isn't received so well.

What are y'alls thoughts on this?

in this day and age there should be balance. Unfortunately I just don't have the money to always pay if we are going to go out a lot. When I start dating a new woman, which I have just started doing this past march for the first time in 25 yrs, I will pay. But I expect her to at least offer. If by the 3rd date she has not at least offered then I will not bother going out with her again. I may or may not let her pay, but she needs to at least offer. I had one woman that we would plan on doing things after dinner... then 2 of the 3 dates we went on 'surprise" she didn't have a chance to eat. so I ended up buying her something to eat and she never once reached for her wallet. I didn't bother with her... but there were a lot of other issues with her.

I've always had a fair share policy with friends; guys and girls. Some times we go out and the one who extended the invitation buys the first round or two. Sometimes we alternate on rounds. Sometimes we split the bill. Sometimes I cover the bill outright. Other times they cover it.

I've had girls pay for entire nights out. One in particular who works at a bar used to routinely invite me out while working and feed me free drinks. I personally just think she wanted me drunk so she could take advantage of my inebriated state; but that's the price we all have to pay from time to time.

Typically if she's buying you the drink, she likes you (especially if she's letting you sip off of her own drink)
