Do French people/women love short men?

FYI the average male height in France is about 5'9" (short for Europe). Think about some of their most famous individuals:
Robespierre 5'3" Napoleon 5'6" Voltaire 5'3" Sartre 5'0" Sarkozy 5'5" Hollande 5'7" Ribery 5'7" Valbuena 5'4"

Are they less heightist than American? I notice some French exchange students (both girls & guys) in my school are shorter than other Europeans like Finland, Germany, etc. Many girls are shorter than me (5'6") and many of guys are about my height or not much taller (5'6"-5'8)

Am I gonna be less screwed in French than in USA?

Uhm, you seem to forget that Napoleon and Robespierre grew up in times of malnutrition.
But yes, the French are short compared to Germans or the Dutch who are even taller than the Germans on average. ( I'm German and 6'2). When I look at other guys in the US, they are frequently short compared to most males in Germany, so yes, you will definitely be less "screwed" in France than in the US.

One reason could be the fact that Napoleon wanted all the tall men for his army, and those tall men died in combat, which ultimately demanded the French to lower their height requirements for the military. And secondly, ( I find the French don't look like the Germans, they also behave very differently, but that's a different topic ), Germans are racially different. Think of Poland : It is the eastern neighbor of Germany but people there look different. Even inside Germany there are height differences form region to region : The North is tall , the south is short

I suppose German and most Nordic countries people are much taller than people in Southern Europe, including France. There are some tall people in France, even Spain, but I don't think they're the norm there.

People were a lot shorter back then and people have different tastes. Europeans are a lot taller than americans because they eat better and get the right nutrients while americans stuff their face with diabetes. I'm 5'6" and wouldn't not date someone based on height because I'm tall and I'd hate for them to do the same.

Its a physical fact that most women want a man who is taller. We aren't talking about the looks. What I meant is that if there are two men, both just as attractive, one is short one is tall. The tall one will be more popular. Why? Because thats how it is now, tall is thought to be an attractive feature for guys.

And you said in your previous comment that girls don't date a guy shorter than they, I proved you wrong. Some girls are willing to date shorter man.

And yeah, you have your statistic. French girls may be shorter. But are you sure they are more willing to date shorter men? You can't be sure. That is just an assumption.

Well according to other several recent reports the average height of French men is 5.9". And I've been to France many times (I have family in Marseille and Paris) and can tell you that they are pretty average in height. Some are very tall, some short but most are I believe 5'9".
