You're on the tall end of average.
If I were describing you to the police I wouldn't use the word "tall" to get my point across I'd say "kinda tall" or something of that nature. Just like if I were describing someone that was 5'7 I wouldn't call them "short" they're "kinda short", but not really you know?
I personally think anyone between 5'6-6'2 is average height. You can be on the upper or lower end of that, but you're still only "kinda" tall/short if you are. Now, if you were 6'4 that's tall! or 5'4 that's short! but 6'1? That's just kinda tall

after 18 and if you're still 6'1" well it depends on where you live, cause up north that would be considered average and down south that would be considered tall.. but you're definitely no short in any region, why do you want to be taller? you wanna be a giant? on the goonies record or what?

I'm 6'2 and I feel like a giant where I live, tower 99% of people I see. People always misjudge my height as 6'3 - 6'6 though. Maybe because I feel like I'm one of the few that doesn't lie about my own height. I have a 5'11 friend that's taller than another friend that still claims to be 6ft.
Even looking slightly down at you I would consider you tall. 6ft+ is what I consider tall.
It's at the upper end of "average". You're technically going to be taller than most guys, but not by a wide enough margin for anyone to really notice.

5'10" is average height in the states.
I think of 6'0" as definitely on the taller side.
But 6'2" and up is really tall to me lol.
