Just curious. I've been texting a friend who moved. At first she said miss ya. Now when she texts she will usually say "miss you". My question is miss you less personal than I miss you? Like "Love you" and "I love you"? She says miss you first now though even though I text her first.
Hmm honestly I would use them interchangeably.. It seems from the girl's answers they don't though so you should probably be paying attention to them.

Yeah there's a difference. Same as love u and I love you. Spelling it out perfectly and putting the "I" in front makes it more real &special.
it's more serious, more... real. i miss you > miss ya or miss you
