When I met my, recently became ex, girlfriend she was a big pot smoker. Pothead doesn't describe how much she smoked blunts. I can say from being with her that it is addictive and if she didn't smoke at a certain point of the day or if she got to a point where she'd smoked way to much; she became nasty. She later graduated into selling it on a regular so that she could make enough money to have her own personal smoke. That tells you just how much she smokes it. It does have benefits in several forms, however many if not most use it for the high. After a while though it became an issue of legality. I wasn't in a position to risk my freedom being with someone that was a dealer. Her family and I asked her to stop selling it and she said that she would and told her family that she had. Came down to it though she couldn't stop selling it and continues to. It was to expensive for her to maintain her own use without the help of dealing and making the extra money to smoke herself up. In the end it was one of if not the main reason she's an ex. She's a gorgeous girl, however the pot made her nasty, disrespectful, and a lair. Worse part is... she's a mom to a three year old little boy. She says he's her whole world, but the risks she takes to deal pot says that she's overtaken by the pot to not let anything else get in her way for being high. Not even the risk of losing her son.

There are two types.. Those that are stoners.. and those that smoke weed. Just like there are alcoholics and people that drink.
Stoners I agree are annoying. But there are people that you would never know smoke unless they told you. Its just something that some people do to relax. There are TONS of things that help someone relax. Dont judge someone because they chose weed instead of something else. judge them because they are a lame pathetic excuse for a human being. Most 'stoners' are... but hey, to each their own right?
My ex-boyfriend would constantly try to get mere to smoke with him, and called me names when I refused. Him and his friends constantly talked about it, and it annoyed me to no end. I don't really have a problem with people smoking it, but I do have a problem with people who can't go two minutes without bringing it up in a conversation.
I've seen that drugs--even pot--can make people do pretty dumb things or have bad side effects. For example, my sister used to smoke pot, and, because she smoked all the time, it's all she wanted to do and ended up going to school three days her senior year--and one of them was to drop out. She stopped being able to pay for it, so she stole about two hundred dollars from our brother who was two at the time.
It wasn't just bad parenting or her personality like so many people try to tell me. It was simply because she was more focused on pot than herself.
That's what I hate most about people who smoke pot.
There's nothing wrong with marijuana, just people who make it the main focus of their life but that can happen with anything. Marijuana isn't physically addictive but it's as mentally addictive as anything else. It is simple enough to stop smoking pot but most people just don't want to and really, if it's not causing any problems for you, why would you? Marijuana should be legalized because there are more benefits from it than problems and people shouldn't have to worry about going to jail for doing it. It doesn't even make sense to have it illegal when alcohol, which is worse, is legal.
"Ppl just discovered it" 😂😂 no they did not. They really didn't. people have been smoking pot for a long time.
And no, Marijuana isn't physically addictive. If you do something everyday it becomes a habit and habits are hard to break, but that doesn't make it an addiction. An addiction is a physical and psychological dependency. One of my friends who smokes often tries to tell me she's addicted because she didn't want to stop (she did anyway though.) I've been hooked on pills before. I know what addiction is.
But I agree that weed is overrated.

It's worthy of legalization because alcohol and tobacco are legal and those are actually bad for you. There has never been a documented case of marijuana overdose and there is little to no evidence that it is even bad for you; in fact some studies point to benefits of marijuana. coffee is worse for you than weed; so is sugar. A recent medical study shows that alcohol is worse for you than cocaine and weed. Yes you can get addicted to weed, but its no less different than being an alcoholic or over eating. There is nothing wrong with it as long as yours an adult and do it responsibly and in moderation. Many famous successful people would have been described as a "pot head" including Carl Sagan and the current president of the USA. The government has lied to the public about weed and its prohibition is expensive and has no real purpose. Thats why it should be legal.
I think marijuana is fine for monitored medicinal use. I don't think it should be used recreationally though because it causes brain damage over time and has a much higher level of certain carcinogens than tobacco. You know how 60 years ago everybody was smoking and everybody thought it was fine? Even when studies came out suggesting the long term effects of smoking, people were like "no way", laughed it off, and kept smoking. Now here we are and we know all that happens when you smoke long term. I have a feeling marijuana will turn out the same way.

GgjfhihiAs you see by BlueMax's post, there are people who smoke pot who are successful and others that are not. Marijuana use should be akin to alcohol use, it should be used in moderation. It's not chemically addictive, but if you get in the habit of doing it all the time, everyday, you're not going to be very ambitious. But to dismiss it's legalization is just inane, taxpayers' money has been too long wasted on such a minuscule "drug", how many car accidents are a result of pot as opposed to alcohol? Domestic violence cases? How many fatal cases of Marijuana? I used to be very anti-marijuana, but when I tried it I realized how silly it was to criminalize it, it's really ridiculous.
Its nothing I care about either. I work a real job and I get drug tested. It's just not worth get fired or arrested over. Sometimes you you just have to make the decision to be an adult and leave childish things behind.
I don't know, I think it's overrated too. I have nothing against weed or potheads, but some people talk way too much about it and act they're all super awesome because they use weed and I'm like "it's just weed, not that big of deal", but maybe you think different about that, because it's legal in our country.
Weed has some beneficial medicinal effects.
But there are two reasons I don't like it:
1. It smells really bad
2. It makes people really hungry and before you know it, they're eating your food. This actually happened to my sister a couple times in college.Itobviously work short term for people who need to be relaxed by something but not by doing practical things to ease their emotional pain or stress, but overall, it can get addictive if people keep coming back to it for a quick fix, then they will never learn how to deal with things without using substances.
Not to mention that you even slightly mention that you don't like/agree with pot, and they harass and "preach" about how your opinion is wrong and how you must be stupid and uneducated about it... kind of like christian extremists.
I'm allergic and I also find it weak to have to rely on a substance to get by... I'm physically disabled and is in constant pain at all times... and I'd rather deal with the pain than get high.Nobody's forcing you to smoke weed. Stick with making friends you like.
Pot is not chemically addicting. You ask why don't they stop? Why don't people stop using the internet, playing video games or using gag? Same answer.
You speak of hype, but the only hype I see here are the lies you were programmed to believe about pot.You probably haven't been through " Life " yourself.
When you have a 9 to 5 job, dealing with idiotic scum of the world,
You'll know.
Arrogant people, Ignorant people, Selfish arse people.
They come in all shape and sizes.
As for those who rely on the substance? Why not?
Don't you want to see happy people in this world?
Unless you live in a decent to rich "White people" neighborhood, I guess you get the exception,
but those who are in the ghetto and urban areas, or villages.
I'd keep that comment to yourself. in my opinion.I have a friend that comes over every second day and constantly i mean CONSTANTLY, will either light up bun, smoke a cigarette or drink liquor. Then has the nerve to ask why I'm obsessed with bodybuilding.
Why don't you stop eating h your favorite food forever? Are you addicted to it? Or do you enjoy it? Neurologically pot isn't anymore addictive
A good return question would be "why should I just stop now?". It brings people pleasure. People enjoy pleasure.
If you don't like something about a certain person... don't hang out with them. Trying to change them is pretty self involved and arroganti m rolling one as i read all this and it can be addictive.
everyone has a drug of choice.
well you got ignorant when you implied it has no value.
its used to treat so many diseases and CBD is proven to kill of cancer cells.
just because phamaceutical companies pressured the US gov to categorize it as 1 class drug along with heroin etc so the whole world made it illegal...
it should be legalized and regulated. it has many medicinal values...
so much ignoranceI smoke pot and I don't brag about it... reasons I smoke pot: stress reliever, and it helps my nerves, and because its better than getting drunk ,.. if you really hate it and don't know why people do it try it yourself, And to be honest its the best herb medicine than PHARMACY DRUGS they have HEROIN, COCAINE so id rather smoke pot and you could still drive correctly not like ALCOHOL
For some reason, I just like being a guy who has never done drugs. People are always impressed about it.
Weed is overrated but many of my Fam members are potheads so I can't really judge
I started smoking weed at age 20. I had to stop because I am an EMT now. But it helped with my anxiety and was better than taking prescriptions
SIMPLE TWO STEP SOLUTION:
1. Don't talk to pot heads
2. Don't smoke weedWe smoke weed for fun. It's something harmless to do with your friends that helps you kick back and relax. It's a social thing. Growing up, everyone smoked so we all knew each other and chilled together no matter who you were.
