Is it weird to go to the movies alone?

I want to see 50 shades of Gray today after reading the book, however, my BF doesn't want to go with me because he thinks that movie will be "gay and a waste of money", and all of my friends have work tonight, as I have a day job, so I wouldn't understand. I'm not going to see that movie with ANYBODY in my family. I don't have sisters to go with, so that's out of the question. I have a brother and he is not the least bit interested in seeing it. So what should I do?

I have 2 questions for you:

1. If you saw someone go to see any movie by themselves, would you think that's weird?

2. If you saw someone go to see Fifty Shades by themselves, would you think that's weird?

I have an unlimited cinema pass for the year, so I see a lot of movies but sometimes I go alone often because I maybe decide to go on short notice. A mate of mine has the pass and does the same thing.

I've gone to plenty of movies by myself for different reasons. sometimes if other people don't want to see the movie I want to see, if I can't find someone to go with before the movie is going to exit theaters or sometimes if I'm just rolling solo for a little maybe i'll go to a movie.

I kind of like it. you can go see what you want when you want.

It has always escaped me why the world sees going to the cinema as a group activity, and refuse to go alone. I go by myself all the time, and dare I say it is my favored way. It is not in the least bit strange-- no one will be watching you out of the corner of their eyes, wondering where your friends are. They are there to see their own movie.

With a group of girlfriends of mine. There is nothing wrong with going by yourself though. I only went with the girls because we all wanted to hangout with each other (it's been a while since we all hung out as a group). By all means if your bf doesn't want to go, go by yourself... No biggy

I've gone by myself. I was nervous but I really wanted to see the movie and no one would go with so I went alone. There wasn't anyone else in there with me lol. For you it might be different because the movie is still new. But I say go. You're probably not gonna be the only one in there alone.

Nah, it's not weird. I've done it before. Everyone else will be watching the movie, not paying attention to the fact that you're there alone. Go see the movie if you want to, it's not a big deal.

I'm not sure if it is 17+ or 18+ in Greece.. And I can't go with someone else because it would be a little creepy..(I don't have a bf so only adults I could go with would be my parents-HELL NO). You should go though and tell us if you enjoyed it. :)

i didn't really like the movie. it was too much p*rn for me. save yourself time but if you still wanna go you can yeah go alone. there were a lot of ladies so you wouldn't feel out of place. enjoy:)

I just came back not too long ago from the 5:40 showing. I got my ticket earlier and went back just to find that there were no more seats left.
