I have to kill time waiting for someone to get off work. before and another time I just felt like it. nobody was sticking their hand in my popcorn then touching the community seat that probably never gets washed down. then grabbing more . that's one plus. If some loud M-F'r is Yacking during the movie I can tell them to SHUT the __ UP ! and not embarrass anybody I'm with.
Someone kicking my seat, I can take their shoe off and throw it across the theater. And stare at em like JACK here, lol.
Just be comfortable with yourself who cares what other people think of you. WTF is wrong with your thought process? STOP BEING AFRAID of PEOPLE and what THEY think !02 Reply

+1 yNo it's not. I've seen people go by themselves. Didn't think that was weird. I don't go to the movies at all anymore, but I did in the past. Sometimes alone, sometimes with a friend. Nobody looked at me or laughed at me when I went alone. Nobody will think anything about you if you go alone.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI don't think so.
I've gone to the movies alone many times, it's not a big deal at all. It's not like it's a very social outing anyway, you're not supposed to talk, haha!
If I go alone, I usually play with my phone (game or mess around on the net) until the movie starts.
What I do think is pathetic is people thinking someone is pathetic for going to the movies alone, haha! Personally, I think it's weird to ALWAYS NEED someone to do something with. I worry about people who can't seem to do anything alone.10 Reply

+1 yI've done it before. Not an issue. If you want to go, just go. My mom wanted to yell at me because I went by myself once and she said it was weird but then I reminded her of her "movie lunch breaks" that she goes on by herself and she stopped yelling haha.
Seriously, no issue. Just do it.00 Reply

I have because when you are at the movies, at least when I go - I don't talk at all during the movie so I figure it doesn't matter whether I go in a group or whether I go alone but I usually only watch action movies when I'm in a group. I will watch a romance movie on my own.

+1 yI go by myself all the time honestly. It used to feel weird but it's actually more enjoyable. What ever girl I've dated...they always insist on going even if they don't like the movie. I can't stand sitting next to someone that doesn't want to be there. They'll just text, ask a million questions about the movie pretty much ruin the it for me.
I usually hit the Applebee's bar across the parking lot before I go into the matinee.00 Reply- 502 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yI personally don't think that's pathetic. There's no reason you can't have fun by yourself, you don't "need" people with you to enjoy a movie(:
Who really cares what anyone else thinks either. Most are probably more focused on themselves and the movie.00 Reply 3.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I've done it before...I really really REALLY wanted to see Star Wars Episode III when it came out in theaters and nobody wanted to go (was the only Star Wars fanatic in my friend circle).
So I went by myself...got my popcorn and my diet Pepsi, and had a blast. Movie was awesome! :)00 ReplyI think it's badass. I go all the time by myself. It's nice cause I can watch the ENTIRE movie without an interruption. Or anyone asking me what just happened. Whenever I get interrupted, it's hard for me to understand what's going on in the movie and then it basically ends up being a big waste of my time.
00 ReplyI've done it before. I got hit on by a few creeps who had been eying me like some piece of meat. I just wanna have fun and enjoy a cinematic adventure, not hook up with women...

Lol I thought men always ready for that shizzle lol
+1 yNo way, who cares? So if nobody wants to see the movie you wanna see you just aren't gonna go? That's what I ask myself and I just go. I've seen avatar, inception, toy story 3, I am legend, stay alive, and plenty other movies by myself.
02 Reply- +1 y
Lol whatever! You didn't like avatar or inception? I don't always ask people to go, the point was that if you want to see it then just see it.
+1 yI have done it. I hate chick flicks so I can't go with my gf's because that is all they watch and I get bored of watching only action movies with my boyfriend. I like action movies but not all the time.

MMMM chicken noodle soup.
I've never tried it but I assume you will be more focused on the movie, rather when you're with friends, you're not too focused, but it seems more fun. It's not weird to go alone though.

+1 yDo it all the time, not a problem with it. It is fun going to a last showing because the after hours crowd is there and it can be a fun time. I have gotten many good laughs.

+1 yI've been to the movies by myself several times. I freaking love it! It's like an adventurer and trill going all by yourself. You feel more independent. It also boost up your confident and self esteem too. I love it. I'm planning on going to see Catching Fire soon all by myself. Also start small like go in the morning where there's hardly any people around, than work yourself up etc...

+1 yWhen you really think about it, what's the point of always aiming to go with someone anyway? It's not like you can talk to them or discuss as the movie is playing anyway.

+1 yI don't think so, I've done it before. It's not that big of a deal, people are there to watch a movie, they won't be paying attention to you.
00 ReplyDo people even care? I'm pretty sure the only one who cares is you. They want to see a movie, not gossip about you.

Totally agree.
I've done it. I've gone to movies by myself when either no one else I know wants to see it or everyone I know that wanted to see it has seen it already and I KNOW it will be better in the theaters that on DVD at home.
00 Reply409 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I have never done it but I don't see the big deal in going alone. You are there to watch a movie not chit chat :)
00 ReplyNo its not pathetic to go to the movies alone, I use to do it a bit when I lived alone, its sometimes a lot more fun, no one talking through the film or dropping your nachos on the floor.
00 ReplyIt's not patethic at all and yes, I have. I know tons of people that do.

00 Reply I do it. Its a movie, I watch them alone at home all the time. I go to the movies for the experience of watching it at the movies. If someones with me, cool. If im alone, still cool. I personally dont think its pathetic

+1 yI've done it but I don't like going by myself. I just subscribe to Netflix because it's much cheaper.
00 ReplyI've done it once, and only once because of fears that people might think I was pathetic. So yes, there are people who may *think* that. But screw them, they're judgmental assholes.
