Guys should date or like many girls at the same time until one of them says she wants to be the girlfriend. After they become exclusive he will need to stop seeing the others. After all, dating is for finding the girl with whom you can spend the rest of your life. If you don't date many girls, you will not find the one you're meant to be with and will end up with a girl that is not for you.

This is a huge mistake guys make. They date one girl and immediately think she's the one. When guys do tThey will either end up getting dump or accept a girl with a bad attitude that will make their life a living hell. Dating many girls at one heightens the likelihood of finding a compatible mate.

It is a common fact that anyone like multiple persons, even worse... It is logic itself. You like a certain type of person, if there are 5 of those person around you well you will like those 5 persons. You can't avoid it.

It is thus not the characteristic of a player but rather being honest and realistic. However as of the true question, liking doesn't mean loving. Every humans are different, even if you like certain type of person that you will thus "like" only the one with something more than the other will be the one to be loved and thus to be dated.

I am not sure I understand fully what you're referring to but either way once you make a choice, others dont matter anymore. You supposedly stick to the one that mean the most to you because you want her and not the others.

It's not about being picked taht's absurd, this isn't a game.

It's like he's playing badminton. He flits from me, to this other girl, back to me... the reason I realized he liked the girl is because I remember the first person he ran away to when I was acting weird was her.

So I'm understandably hurt as to why he's even bothering to talk to me or like me if he's got his eye on multiple people

I think I need a clearer view on your story.

Unless you 2 are in a relationship (which you didn't introduce so I am not sure weither it's the case) it is indeed a game... You meet people that you like, try to get to know those people and when one is interesting you try to get that person. If he isn't in a relationship with you then there shouldn't be any expectation made, he's free to run to any girl he wants and thus will hurt you by any choice he makes if you're interested in him.

Now if he's purposingly playing with your feelings, chances are he's a player but he mights as well be an unstable individual that doesn't know how to show his feelings. Eitherway he would be someone to avoid if you're looking for anything serious.

I think, what causes me to like him, is I see one thing with my own eyes, and his background says another.

What I see in front of me is a hard-working person, who rarely smiles, and wants to make something of his life, this I admire. Especially the fact that he can be a no-nonsense person.

And what I know of him, is he hangs out with 'player,' guys, he maintains ties with them despite knowing they're up to no good, and that he is capable of being disloyal.

So when I see him in front of me, I feel intimidated of him, and think he's a great guy, but everything else I know about him makes me wonder if he's unstable and a player.

I don't even think it's about me wanting a relationship with him, I'm just very 'in awe' of him... I wonder if he recognizes that and uses against me, or he genuinely does care about me, as a person, and understands that I like him because of his qualities, and could care less about his physical apperance, which he seems very insecure about

Well things are simple, you won't know if he's stable unless you date him or try to befriend him if you're patient enough. Here you're trying to judge if that person considering the persons around him is a bad person. Well... Yes? No? Maybe? Wether or not he's this way people always change, even more if they love someone. In the end it is up to you to know what you want and what you're ready to work for.

It's not a player characteristic... I've liked more than one girl at once, I knew who I liked more but that couldn't stop me from liking the other. I do pay more attention to the one I like the most.
