Why do I stick my tongue out when I am concentrating?

Do you have something you do that happens without you really paying attention? My SO pointed out that I stick my tongue just a bit out whenever I am captivated by something I am doing, whether it be painting or trying to fix something.

I also have found that once I am aware of it, I lose a bit of concentration

I've done that before as well, I think it's just an I concious reaction that a person makes while focusing, your mind is so focused on its task that it maybe forgets "proper" animations? I don't know, but I've done it, I bite my lip as well sometimes when I'm concentrating.

I bite my tongue or my lip. It's a painful habit sometimes...

Everyone has some sort of habit like that, but most don't realize it because it's so natural to them.

I do that a lot. My boyfriend noticed that when I'm nervous I chew on my tongue and cross my legs at my ankles. Now every time I do that we just start laughing.
