Why do ugly guys have such high standards?

I swear the guys who are not even good looking have such high standards in women that they have to look like a model when the guy isn't even great looking.

For guys with low self esteem it probably has a lot to do with ego. If I can get this girl I'll prove that I am somebody. Stupid, of course, but so are most ego games. On the other hand guys who are sure of themselves don't worry as much about her appearance, more if they are a good match. They don't have anything to prove.

I don't think they have higher standards, I think its just that guys in general have no problem voicing their criticism of a girls appearance so you'll see below average overweight guys talking about how a girl has too much tummy fat or a weird nose

You can't control who you're attracted to. Having said that, I think after a while those guys will realise their standards are unrealistic unless they wanna end up lonely

For the same reason some girls do the same, people want to be with a good looking person regardless of if they are good looking themselves or not. If you want to attract a good looking person the best thing to do is become as good looking as you can yourself. A person attracts what they are pretty much.

Why would anyone want to be in a relationship with someone they aren't attracted to? Its better to remain single than to be stuck with someone you can't stand the sight of. That kind of relationship won't make either gender happy.

its just a "personal preference" ain't it? i mean people on here express their preference to not dating certain races for instance, and no one really bats an eyelash. What is the difference here really? If an ugly guy wants an attractive woman, its all part of what society would explain away by saying "its just a preference"... which makes it A-Okay!

Women typically have higher standards then men regardless of how they look. Even if you're an average looking guy you need to have money, a good career/job/education, and all this other material shit.

I've yet to see a girl spend her life savings to take a guy out on a date at a 5 star restaurant.

Like for example a girl in 5'3 and still she wants a guy who is 6 feet tall or more... it's more like a preference.. And some people have unrealistic once...
