I agree with this.

I'm the kind of person who lives in the past, and this doesn't help me. I know that I can't change my past and time doesn't come back, but I can't overcome this. This stops me from moving on and therefore from finding happiness.
Observing others makes us waste time and lose opportunities. Some things happen once in life and those things can lead us to happiness. So, if we are paying attention to other people's lives, we don't take those opportunities.

I do agree with this quote, because if you're living in the past you're dwelling on things that've already happened and that can't be changed. when you're observing others you're likely comparing yourself to them to some extent and that might make you feel like you're not working hard enough, attractive enough, etc. the best thing you can do it focus on your present and even future, and your own progress. everyone is at different stages of life.

Yes to living in the past, because it holds you back and can make you unappreciative of what you have now.

No to observing others, because it's too vague. I get the point - because it causes jealousy and envy or because you should not just stand back and look but actually do, but it should've been more specific.

I never live in the past, I just don't have the energy. I prefer to move on. My issue would be drawing comparisons between myself and others. I haven't done so in a while, but I agree that you can get into the habit of observing others in a bid to see if you match up. That can get depressing, lol. The thing is, we never manage to match up...

If we live everyday regretting what's already done and allow the shadows of the past to affect our future we couldn't be completely happy.

Observing others? Envying what others have or comparing your life with others I guess hinders ones happiness too.

Yes and no cause there are times where past misses you. up but there are times where it helps so its a learning experience
