For my example I like skinny girls and a lot of people are saying that they are anorexic, but they are not. Just good metabolism and perfect body. Calling some anorexic is really bad!

Fat isn't popular, it's just common. 70% of America is fat. (I just googled that) First of all, curvy and fat aren't the same. Fat isn't popular, it's just that we try not to treat overweight people so rudely today. We just want the world to accept us. People hear the word fat and instantly think negatively about someone. When people hear the word fat they think of the words lazy, weak, and nasty. So technically that's like calling 70% of America lazy, weak, and nasty. The truth is though, most people aren't overweight because they are lazy, or weak, or nasty. It's our food. It's packed with sugars, fats, and salts that literally turn our foods into drugs. We become addicted to them. Some people were blessed with a good metabolism, others weren't. Some people have the time to work out, but most don't. Some people have the money for personal trainers and exercise equipment, but most don't. The result is, lots of overweight people. Rather than treating 70% of Americans like trash, we give them the same respect that we give skinny people. Overweight doesn't automatically mean ugly, or lazy, or unhealthy. Skinny doesn't automatically mean beautiful, athletic, or healthy. Just treat people respectfully, no matter what weight they are. Overweight isn't popular, but learned to accept it.
I have to agree with you. There is a huge difference between being obese and curvy, just as there is a difference between being skinny and anorexic. One can be "curvy" and considered completely healthy.
Also, I don't necessarily think being fat is considered popular. Some people have a hard time losing weight.
I think it's normal for everyone to have his/her own preference. Though, it's not ok as a society to glorify a certain body type over the rest. It's not ok to have other people make you feel ashamed of your body. Neither it's ok to judge other people for their weight. Weight is a personal matter.
The issue is that a lot of women who are legitimately overweight have tried using words like "thick" or "curvy" to describe their body type when the truth is they are just plain overweight. "Thick" and "Curvy" are not things that a scale will show. They are natural body shapes that you would retain even if you were skinny or underweight. And women who are in denial about being legitimately overweight and out of shape need to STOP using these words to describe themselves because all they do is create confusion.
Curvy is a body shape that you either have or you don't. If you have it, you'll retain it no matter where you are on the BMI scale. And if you have it, all it means is your body is naturally shaped to draw attention to your hips, butt, and/or chest, implying you are either hourglass or pear shaped.
Because we live in a society where they're trying to make everyone be happy with what they have, and I think it's good, but when it comes to glorifying an unhealthy lifestyle, it isn't ok.
Also, some people just want to complain and go against everyone else and what it's ok; some people just want to be rebels, they think it's cool.
We shouldn't shame fat people, that's wrong, but we shouldn't tell them "Yo, embrace that fatness of yours, it's awesome!", that's wrong too.
Agree, but what about skinny girls which are perfect in my opinion. Calling them anorexic etc.. I think it's just envy from other "fat" people.
I agree with you. I see fat people calling perfectly fit girls anorexic just because they're skinnier than them.
I'm skinny, and I got called anorexic many times, even though I'm not even close to looking anorexic, but people are just envious and want to criticize to try make themselves feel better. That's also why they try to glorify being fat, because it's easier to spit out some words than to lose weight.
Totally agree with you. Also losing weight it's so damn easier compared to gaining weight. I know some friends who are working 3-5 times a week eating 8x a day and they hardly gain a weight because of their metabolism.
But they look good, healthy. Envy people make me sick.
Tell me about it. I eat like a pig and don't gain weight xD
@aamy811 but if you're 10 lbs overweight, you're still fat. If it's overweight, it's unhealthy, that's why it's called overweight.
Just to clarify, I also don't approve of underweight models, that's also unhealthy and shouldn't be glorified either.
My best friends is 10lbs over weight. Of course the BMI system doesn't determine whether that's muscle or fat.
She not fat by any means but she has a pooch on her belly. Which is normal and how most people are built.
But the if your a couple of pounds overweight u don't think it's will ruin you life or else basically every person over 35 would be borderline deaf

If calling someone anorexic is mean then calling a larger person whose big lazy is also kind of mean.
But it's okay to like what ever you like. Whether that's over weight, thin, medium. Whatever you want
But only showing one body type isn't okay and never is. It creates body image issues and beauty hierarchy
Totally agree! My opinion : skinny girls ;)
Just wanted to ask what other think!
They're not promoting being fat, as fat and curvy are kind of (very) different. Curvy doesn't necessarily means being fat, as it's a body type that can also apply to "normal weight" people. It just means having curves. Example : i00.i.aliimg.com/.../...raps-Bodycon-Dress-M-L.jpg doesn't look fat to me and seems pretty healthy.
But I agree with you on the fact that people tend to confuse the two and generalize , which sometimes ends up in promoting being fat and unhealthy.
Wow... just wow... this just takes the cake for ignorance of the day... let me explain to you something. Just because a girl is a little bigger than the girls you prefer, it doesn't mean they are unhealthy. You cannot tell how unhealthy someone is just by looking at them. You are not their doctor. They are not "promoting unhealthy" lifestyles. Realistically, not every girl is going to look like your type. Personally, I'm into tall fit guys as well. But I'm not going to go around saying bigger guys are unhealthy. People just have different body types and they may be just as healthy as you are.
If you have a type, that's fine (I know I do). But body/fat shaming is something you should really take a step back and consider, "am I being a jerk?" Because yes, you are.
So true I would be a size 6-8 but I was born with big boobs so despite having a tiny waist/torso I have to get clothes that go with my figure but tbh guys generally seem to love boobs an a booty an this guy is irritating
I would love to see if this guy is skinny Mr anonymous
I'm skinny by the way, but I've got muscles. My metabolism is fast I eat 8x a day.
That still doesn't make it okay to judge body types that are different from yours.
I'm glad they are doing it, girls need to know you don't have to be super skinny, girls these days thinks they are fat just because they don't have a thigh gap. 7 year olds thinks they are fat, so advertising girls with curves is a great idea and plus i have met a lot of healthy and fit curvy women. That picture proves my point if a girl doesn't look like that she will think she is fat. My friend is a size 5 and she thinks she's fat.
Well not all people who are fat are unhealthy. Maybe they tried their best to lose weight but it doesn't work. After that that's when you should love yourself and body because that's who you are. It's just like you said all skinny people aren't anorexic they're just fit and that is their natural figure they love and accept
Curvy= not fat but womanly so a slim woman with curvy hip an a booty is not fat. Fat is when it's not in proportion an a woman has hanging saggy weight on stomach and other body parts. Good for you that you like really skinny girls but to me I think that girl doesn't look womanly like an ironing board no boobs or nothing imagine sex with bone
If calling someone anorexic is bad equally fat shaming women is just as awful. It's like for guys you might have a small dick or be bad in bed but would a girl slate you for it?
yep im skinny and have stopped working out to gain weight, i just sit on my fat ass. When i eat normal and don't diet but exercise i lose weight. So i have decided just to work out a couple days a week and eat some junk food.
don't do this. You're good. But eating junk food and all that won't help you. I mean it's unhealthy. Better to stay skinny <3
if im healthy and active even when i eat a normal diet including some deserts and such... i am slim, i actually have to be lazy as fuck to gain weight lol The problem is that maybe 1 in 5 guys like skinny women these days and with the probability of meeting one of these men its just a low chance.
I like!! I think a lot of my friends I know like skinny more than that.
that dog pic is hilarious lol
haha :D
Because there is a different between fat and unhealthy; you can be bigger and be healthy, there are people who can't be skinny and tiny. I don't see why you care if people are fat or not, it's their choice they can do what they want.
Yeah same for skinny girls? I've seen some girl calling anorexic etc..
It isn't okay to call someone fat and lazy nor is it okay to call someone anorexic, I'm not disputing that. But everybody has a different body, the point isn't to say: BE FAT! It's to say be confident no matter what state your in. There shouldn't be shame put on fat people, there shouldn't be shame put on skinny people either. I'm short and skinny and I was called anorexic when I was younger, but it doesn't mean it's okay to call someone fat and lazy. We need to support everybody, not just the "ideal" types of men and women.
No idea, but I like this trend. It leaves more skinny and fit girls for me.
hehe yeah totally agree, but i think skinny girls are perfect, I know a lot of people who are skinny because of their metabolism etc... Calling someone anorexic is just pathetic, usually "fat" girls call skinny anorexic because they are envious.
I think it's propaganda (marketing) because look at this stats till 2025 2 out of / 3 Americans will be overweight. !!!
It's because in this 'everyone's a winner' society where we can't hurt anyone's feelings and everyone is perfect.
good thing we all have our own opinions and like different things eh
The girl in the photo you posted is waaaay to skinny for my liking.
They aren't talking about life-threateningly overweight girls. Just those who can't get rid of those last 20 pounds or so.
Well there is a difference between being curvy and being fat, but yeah I know what you mean...
People are making it seem like its find to be overweight and that you shouldn't change which isn't the case
i agree with this 100%
I agree with you
