It’s not it’s gross! I get a lot of people don’t know what to eat and good foods like bacon and Ags and steak etc have been deemed “bad” but I see people drinking soda sbd eating fast food etc it’s totally gross can we please stop pretending it’s ok
367 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Because every single one of us comes from different genetics and genes , just because someone is overweight, or chubby or fat , or skinny or thin , it’s their genetics and genes that made them that way , some people have higher metabolism than others’ do , some people can eat a whole pizza by themselves and not gain a pound and some people can eat a slice of pizza and gain 5 pounds. So someone’s weight and build doesn’t define who that person is. Social media and money making corporations defined it to be that way, to make money off of people. Our bodies are designed for survival , why it’s easier for people to gain weight over losing weight. Some people choose to go to the gym everyday to burn off calories and fat , to give them more stamina and strength , but it absolutely does nothing for their health , I knew people that worked out every day , and watching what they ate and they still dropped dead at a young age , so someone’s body and weight doesn’t define someone’s health whatsoever , Social media and organizations want us to believe that nonsense , so we give them money , to make their pockets bigger. Brainwashing us to believe in nonsense. Making people feel down about themselves so they hand over money , to make themselves feel better about themselves because sadly we are surrounded by judgmental people that have no dignity or respect for anyone but themselves. I know skinny people that hate their weight that want to be bigger than what they are , I know big people that want to be skinnier than what they are and I know people that just don’t give a shit because they accept themselves for who they are , So who’s right or wrong?

"eat a slice of pizza and gain 5 pounds [of fat and not just bloating]" --- this is just not true
And even if it were, that person should just not eat a slice of pizza, so it's still within their control.
Few people have a good excuse to be fat other than a lack of discipline or self care, akin to bad hygiene. - 1 y
I am just saying in general , what someone chooses to do with their life is their own decision, who are we to judge what some else chooses to do? If someone wants to sit around and stuff their faces all day and it makes them happy , so be it , that’s their decision, not yours , not mine , no one’s decision , but their own. All we can do as people is give advice and try to help someone out but if they are struggling , we can’t force them to listen , unless they want to listen. All I am saying is people need to stop judging other people , we don’t know someone else’s life and past , or where they came from , or what their genetics and genes are. We can assume we know , but assuming means absolute shit. So does it make you feel better about yourself by hurting other peoples’ feelings? Were you put on Earth to judge and criticize everyone around you? Life isn’t about that , Life is about loving and giving , just because someone is skinny it doesn’t make them better than someone that is fat or chubby or short or tall , someone’s heart is what matters most , Fuck what social media puts inside of our heads , it’s all money making bullshit. We are all going to die of something , just live your life the way it makes you happy , fuck what other people think or say. People that can talk shit about other people , are people that are insecure about themselves. They think their shit doesn’t stink , and more than likely their time will come when fingers are pointed back at them , for their disrespectful attitude and behavior. Karma is a bitch. I am not a judgmental person , if someone is nice to me , I am nice
To them , I don’t care if they are fat , skinny , or they have 3 heads , if they are cool with me , I am cool with them , if they ask for me for advice , I will give them advice , but if they aren’t asking , I am not giving , People need to wake the fuck up on this planet a realize we are all people no matter what , if you don’t like someone , stay the fuck away - 1 y
If choices don't reflect on character, than what does
People's poor choices result in detrimental consequences for those around them, including higher healthcare costs and a tragically unattractive dating pool - 1 y
I respect what you just said. I think both can be true at the same time. We can love fat people and even sacrifice our lives to help them—while accurately perceiving the reality (that I described earlier) at the same time.

@Finchie40 some people will never understand if they never had to be in that boat.
I spent years and years trying to lose weight. I was even successful in losing a lot of weight (didn't make me have a flat tummy tho) and actually made me look older and haggard. I stopped caring about dieting - which was making me yo yo anyways - accepted who and what I am size wise - and ha! I naturally eat less because I'm happier and have toned up from dancing and have lost some weight, slowly. I'm not really keeping an eye on it but think it's a stone.

I hear ya girl , I go through the same shit , I came from a big boned broad family of men , the females in my family were all thin but us men were all broad , I use to hate my size when I was a kid , because some people were straight out assholes and criticizing my size and making comments and some people didn’t criticize and liked me for who I was So I always felt like I was stuck in the middle , some people liked me and some didn’t , So I started working out when I became a teenager , hitting the gym and watching what I ate to realize I was barely getting any results , I was just packing on muscle and I slimmed down a little. but I still had the chub , I tried so many different supplements to help burn the fat and it was just a temporary fix , until I went to my doctor and got checked up to find out , it’s just because of my build and my genetics and genes , My doctor told me not the work out like I was doing because he said I could permanently injure myself , I chose not to listen to him because I was subconsciously insecure about my size , and didn’t think girls’ would like me , but damn I was wrong , because girls’ were hitting on me like crazy and I thought they must be blind. To realize all those asshole people that criticized me and made comments about me were just insecure about themselves , so i eventually slowed down on exercising and stopped taking all those supplements that are actually bad for us. Some of my friends that were heavy into working out ended up dying at a young age , so that was another reason i slowed down and stopped taking those supplements, Now my body is like a yo yo as well , to the point I don’t care if I add on a few pounds , I mainly do in the winter time , but come spring and summer I drop it off. I consider myself a bear and I just accept myself for who I am as a person , and no longer care what other people think or say , not everyone on this planet it going to like us and not everyone is going to dislike us , so just rock

Awww yes exactly. People put other people down all the time. And kids can be cruel. But where are they learning it from? Society. I think it's a good lesson to learn and accept we are beautiful people to some. And all Fugly to others lol. But what are these opinions? Who makes a person's opinion mean anything? Mostly I think we want to be loved and accepted. And being a good person can bring that. Not physical appearance.

1 yWell, it's NOT OK. A lot of politically correct types will try to say it's OK, but it's not. The people who push this nonsense are killing people.
It's happened slowly over time. People have become desensitized to it. It's well beyond the point that fat is normal. When people actually start thinking that way, then it's a very serious problem.
Why isn't fat handled the same was that smoking was/is? That's because the politically correct types didn't involved with smoking. We didn't have people saying "smoking is beautiful". We didn't have people making all kinds of excuses for smokers, basically saying it's not their fault, it's really the fault of XYZ.
To tell the truth and speak out against obesity is "shaming" fat people. Can't have that. Better to just let obesity kill them than to shame them.
But "shaming" is exactly why there are less than half as many smokers as there were 50 years ago.
Obesity is probably far more unhealthy than smoking. Yet we have a segment of society that continues telling people it's OK to be fat. Which in essence is telling them it's OK to kill themselves.
Society needs to collectively stop telling people it's OK to be fat. Society needs to stop making excuses for being fat. Making excuses takes the burden away from where it belongs, which is on the fat person. No matter what other contributors there are, the burden always falls on the fat person to lose weight.

Like I'm a smart lesbian woman just watch what I eat and eat when I'm hungry!
It's not hard just don't stuff your face constantly cause your bored lonely and stuck on tiktok.
Then they insult me when my answer is just watch what I eat and eat healthy.

1 yI think maybe you need to focus less on other people. Unless these fat people are directly threatening to suffocate you with their size, you have nothing to worry about but your own business. Comparison, even the kinds made to make you feel better about yourself temporarily, is the thief of joy.

It’s gross to look at it then I have to pay for the medical expenses when they’re on disability
You could always just stop paying taxes then
Also, how often do you personally pay for someone’s disability? Or even visit the disability office? Are you also on disability? Do you just dislike waiting in the same room as them? I imagine if you’re disabled and middle-aged it must be something like severe arthritis, right?
- 1 y
Thats a new version of conservative I've not heard of.
"I don't want my taxes paying for fat people"
Newsflash, your taxes are paying for much worse. - 1 y
Fatness is almost 100% in the control of most people. I'd hardly compare it to a disability.
If someone's "disability" was really as easy to fix, then yes they are at fault for imposing such costs on others just for their own convenient (I don't know you're telling me there are some costs; I'm just following your example). @morganherrel that’s a good point, if being fat was a choice then fatness would deny someone disability payments pretty much immediately

1 yLack of emotional intelligence to process negative societal feedback in a productive way.
Female empowerment movement taking us to the point that no woman is undateable no matter how fat or unappealing, whereas average men struggle and are shamed for their inadequacies.
A woman who is just average in a country that hasn't been corrupted by this ridiculous Fat Acceptance movement and Body Positivity movement...
... is automatically top 20% (at worst) in America just because she's healthy and not so fat xD
Lastly, fatness and ugliness has become so pervasive in America, especially among women, that it's becoming the new norm. In the past, you would have been called fat or unhealthy or unattractive—now, you're "just average."
Society is more afraid of eating disorders than obesity, despite the latter being far more prevalent and far more economically costly to society. Not to mention more ugly. I met maybe one anorexic person in my entire life who actually faced health risk. But almost all Americans would benefit from eating less and becoming less fat.

1 yIf you're talking about Americans which I presume you are because 1/3 of them are morbidly obese. There are several reasons. One the loss of shame. Two you can't criticize they are so-called lifestyle decision. Three capitalism: capitalism has created conditions where time, resources, effort, and money have made it almost impossible for a great many people to be healthy. Private medical insurance, also a disgusting fact under capitalism in America, has dissuaded preventative care and eliminated gym membership subsidies and done all manner of things to treat conditions rather than prevent them because treating means better profits.
12 Reply- 1 y
Employers used to subsidize it or include it in health insurance but I only know if a few huge corps that still do and it's because labor is unionized
4.9K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Ot is not OKAY. Nobody wants to take responsibility for their lives. They abuse their body with too much junk food, booze and dope. They spend too much time on Facebook and not enough time exercising. When they all get fat they just decide that being fat is no so bad.

I think it's only okay to be whoever you want to be if that's who you want to be it's not okay to be fat is my choice for myself if other people want to be fat that's on them I'm not going to say anything to them about it because it's none of my business if they ask me for help to get skinny I will help them
But most people cannot commit to themselves to do what it takes to get skinny or to become healthy I should say10 Reply
1 yI used to be an elite athlete, yet for some reason in my early 20's I developed Type 2 Diabetes (nobody in my family has it). I practically have to starve myself to death to lose weight now. The only thing I've found that works is a complete zero carbs diet, and even that hardly works anymore. I quit drinking sodas long time ago, and all that does is MAINTAIN my weight, it doesn't promote weight loss either.

00 Reply It's not just about eating bad food. I can eat all the right foods and still get fat if I don't eat correct portions. Honestly, people get offended when you call them fat because they feel guilty. But tbh that's not my problem. They SHOULD do something about it. I would never ever make fun of them or purposefully shame them. But if I have to describe them im not gona lie and call them skinny. They are fat

1 yIt is pretty disgusting. And it seem pandemic among younger people. I run every morning except Sunday, and while out I see lots of people over 40, 50, even 60 moving - running, jogging, walking. Part of my course takes me past a donut shop, and I see 20 something behemoths. Like 5'2 and 300 lbs +. I wonder how this happened.
20 Reply It hasn't. Everyone is being overly sensitive, so criticism is more frowned upon nowadays. Also people shouldn't care how other's live like that if it doesn't directly effect you. Unless they looking for that attention just why can't people mind their business. No one cares if it's offending you that you have to see it. That's part of the new culture of being overly sensitive, so it makes you a part of the problem.
