Why is everyone so short?

Where I live, I'm taller than 95% of people both men and women.. yet I'm only 5'8.
My background is German and Norwegian (which are very tall countries) but I'm not used to so many short people.

I was holding on to the metal bar on the subway, and two women actually walked under my arm! haha they were like 4'7 o.0

I know this might sound mean, but I feel so out of place and like I'm walking around in midget land half the time :/
Why don't people just grow more?

I'm 4'11"-5' it's crazy how some people are super tall... It's kind of sad really. I guess when we are in a sense a minority we all feel out of place... I guess just be proud of your height. Why would you want to be be shorter, I mean almost everyone else is taller. I love being short now but it gets annoying af when the tall people tease me about or call me "cute" cause I am short. So enjoy the view.

5'0 is way more common than a girl who's 5'10. I would love to see how it feels to blend in for once, and be seen as cute. I think a lot of tall women are seen as manly

I personally feel that being viewed as manly doesn't depend on whether you are tall or short. I feel a lot of it has to do with how you carry yourself and your bodies shape. Try to maintain poise and be elegant and flatter your shape. Be feminine and be alluring because of how you look and act and not because of your height :)

Not me in particular, just in general. Tall women just have a reputation of being less feminine as a whole

I'm 6 feet tall and I hate it. As a girl, I would rather be shorter and have the access to wear heels and not look out of place. I have people tell me "you shouldn't wear heels. You're tall enough." I wear them to feel good about myself not to be taller then anyone else. Someone even told me one time at my sisters bachelorette party that I looked like a tranny. My best friend is 4'10 and she has as hard of a time finding clothes and shoes as I do being as tall as I am lol. But I've heard from my ex boyfriends that I'm the tallest woman they have dated and they don't like dating a girl this tall because they don't feel as manly or protective if they were dating a girl that was 5'8. That's why they are exes for a reason. But to go along with the question, yes. It's awkward being the tallest woman or even person in the room. Sometimes I would just like to blend in and be "average" or even short. I'll trade heights with anyone anyday lol.

I guess because many people associate tall women with having boxy shape or rectangular body shape when in reality there are tall women with beautiful hourglass figures.

Also long legs are extremely sexy. Make the most out of your height. make yourself the exotic beauty of your city or town and not the freak show. Be confident. You're beautiful and you need to make sure you let everyone know you own it.

In my country 1,60m is the female average and I'm 1,66m, but if I go to Hungary I'm average, so it depends on where you are.

The average height of a man in the US is 5'10, so you can't be taller than 95% of people in the US. And it's pretty much the same in Canada, and in Europe there are countries that are even taller.

Isn't a lot of being short genetics, but also diet? Some people don't get access to the nutrition they need to grow to maximum height

I actually live in the US 8 months of the year. The other 4 in Canada. My dad is 6'1, and he's always the tallest person in the crowd, with the exception of 1 or 2.

I always ate really healthy foods to grow as tall as possible. A lot of people don't have access to nutritious things, so they can't possibly reach maximum height.
There's also genes and environmental factors

It's not really the Americans, it's the other people. I'm not racist AT ALL, but mostly the immigrants from India, Mexico, and China are the shorter ones.
