Why do some pretty girls smoke?

I mean there are some pretty good looking girls out there... Then they reach into their pockets and fire up a cigarette, and I can't think of a bigger turn-off.

Seriously, there's some girls out there that could be worth so much more to a lot of people if they just didn't smoke. And they're pretty like I said too! I mean, you already got a lot going for you... Why degrade yourself like that and do something as nasty and gross as smoking?!

now don't get me wrong, I'm against smoking and I find it to be unattractive to a point. You have to understand that people smoke because they're addicted to it especially after consistent use even after a few months. Some people only do it when they drink, but that usually leads to them also smoking regularly as a habit. The drugs, yes, the drugs in it are habit forming so people become addicted no different than if they were to start shooting heroin(although obviously not nearly as addicting or detrimental to their lives.) They crave nicotine, some people crave going through the motions of doing it as well because it's something to do, just like if people eat sporadicly. Some people are dumb enough to think they look cool. Some find it in stress relief because they're feeding an addiction. I don't approve of smoking, but I'm not going to base whether or not I date someone solely on if they smoke or not. Now I wouldn't want them to smoke in my house or directly around me because it makes it seriously hard for me to breathe when in close contact with it. You could meet a girl who smokes and she could be your soul-mate for all you know, but has a bad habit (that you could possibly help get rid of if they would like to quit) and you would never know because you take one look at her and notice she smokes and be a completely judgmental ahole and disregard her existence.

some people enjoy smoking. I'm a smoker so the fact another girl smoked wouldn't put me off at all. But if I didn't smoke I can admit it wouldn't be exactly a turn on. I know it helps keep hunger down too and in a time where the world is obsessed with weight loss this would be a major plus for some women.

Even pretty people are insecure. Smoking is like an excape just because someone is pretty doesn't mean that they are happy. Don't look at them differently becasue of them smoking but maybe try and figure out why they smoke before you judge them. When people look at me they think sweet inncent nice smart and happy , well I went threw some stuff in my life and I was far from happy I started smoking and for a short period of time I was happy so I just kept doing it , I didn't start to be cool or anything it was something I kept to myself I was so mad wen this guy wouldn't talk to me any more becasue of it , so it only added to the stress , and I started smoking more. All it took was a nice guy who didn't care about me smoking to actually give me the time of day to talk and he listened to what I had to say , I found out that talkin about stuff really helped me and I no longer need or wanted to smoke . I quit the next week and havnt smoked since all thanks to him not relying on his 1st impression of me.

Well, think about the people who are push-overs. They can easily be talked into smoking by their friends. Some people like the taste of it. I've tried it before and to me it tastes like coffee (I know that's weird, but that's what it tasted like to me). Some use it as a stress reliever.

There are many reasons as to why a person might smoke. In my opinion, if the person wants to smoke, let them smoke. When they get cancer or whatever else, it's their own fault. At least in restaraunts and such it's outlawed. So I'd be happy that I wouldn't have to deal with it in places I'll be for a while. And there are just as many pretty ones that don't smoke as there are that do; probably more, in fact. Just go after those who don't instead of those who do.

I used to smoke cigarettes. I got into it because the people that I was hanging with did and I was young and I thought it made me look cool and badass lol. I did have guys get turned off when I smoked. I just quit one day, I didn't want to ruin my looks and health. That is probably a reason why smokers usually date other smokers

There are smoke guys that find it very sexy and erotic to see an attractive girl smoking. Mostly a visual thing, but some of us do find it a turn on. Is it healthy? NO everyone knows its not, but everyone has a preference and there's been such a stance lately to make smokers feel like they should be ashamed or hide the fact that they smoke. Why? I know many people who drink and become assholes when they've had to much but we don't see much ads about drinking assholes. It's a proven fact that if you drive the highway with your windows down you inhale more toxins than someone that smokes. You plainly have a preference for girls that do not smoke...they're plenty out there. Many girls and woman are looking for someone not to be judgemental of them. I've found that once a girl that smokes knows that I like it she's much more relax and open to other things as well. Just something to think about.

Thank you! I'm a smoker myself and even I know its disgusting unhealthy and gross but it's a habit and a damn hard one to kick too. I feel bad enough as it is doing this to myself let alone having people constantly harassing me about it. Sometimes you have to see past those little imperfections and bad habits that people have.

I smoke when I'm stressed or want to be smoking weed but can't or when I can't focus/ think or when I feel like everything I want I can't have or etc... there are a lot of reasons behind smoking.

Smoking being degrading is your opinion and that's find but I'm a smoker who doesn't give a f*** if people find it a turn-off because if they're going to judge me on whether or not I smoke instead of getting to know me then they don't matter.

They think it's cool, amazing how that same mindset from the 50's and 60's is still there. They were probably pressured into it by some guy they thought was hot and then after he either dumped them or just never gave them the light of day to begin with they just never stopped.

Because once you start smoking it's very hard to stop. Most girls start to smoke in there teens years because of peer pressure or they thought it made them look cool. I know because that's why I started smoking and I wish I didn't. I've been smoking for several years now and I still haven't been able to stop.

its also not the same as cigarettes at all, weed doesn't smell like ass, it doesn't kill you or make your skin all oily and wrinkly, its not addictive (aside from possible mental addiction which can occur with anything: tv, food, sex...) and usually girls that are stoners just tend to be really fun people... really artistic and imaginative.

Maybe they smoke because they want to! Its their choice so if they pick to smoke its not because its 'cool' or whatever its because they want to. I agree with scarlett... I respect myself and my body and don't want to settle for anything less. I want a girl that can respect herself and her body and health as well. It IS proven to be unhealthy. And plus the smell is just awful to me. I couldn't personally live with that.

And in my state, they passed a no-smoking law in all restaurants and establishments and it takes effect next month. It's not a good thing to do, and yes is inconsiderate to people around that live healthier lives.

No incidental as in if you love somebody this should not be a deal breaker because it is changeable, its not a fixed state. Als, yes of course it is unhealthy everybody knows this, but like I said it is changeable, the damage that is done can be repaired, and the effects of passive smoking are minimal. Anyway, smokers are more fun and the new populised basking of smokers is just immature, its a personal choice and if you don't like it noone is forcing you to stay around
