Why do girls cover half their face in so many pictures?

Lately I've noticed that a lot of girls send pictures with half their face covered on SC and stuff and I don't get why they do it

id do it to post a picture without really being recognizable, it maintains anonymity but gives people a general idea and something to familiarize themselves with the poster.

if you mean for regular pics I don't know. artistic expression perhaps. sharing and lighting changes when parts are exposed and obscured. contrast mystery etc.

Symmetrical faces are scientifically proven to be more attractive. If you can only see one side of the face then anything unsymmetrical won't be able to distract you from their beauty.

They probably aren't thinking about it quite that deeply, but many girls notice that they feel prettier when pics are only of half their face - myself included.

It's so much easier to look hot with only part of your face showing because it usually shows the best features

I can't see your whole face but you look very pretty and it's part of who you are so I don't think you should hide it at all
