Why do girls take pictures where half their face is not in the shot?

They'll somehow cover half their face with a hand or hair or something or they'll take the photo at an angle where half their face isn't in the shot. Why?

It's cuz their self conscious. A lot of girls have that problem really bad. Some girls, no matter how many people tell them that their pretty, no matter how many guys approach them, think they are ugly and barely feel comfortable showing their full face.

It's a terrible problem that a lot of girls have and they are so ashamed of themselves it's crazy. It actually reminds me of how people who are anorexic are described. I think this is a real problem that society needs to help fix. I'm the last person to be a feminist, or to be delicate on anyone for what I think is a stupid reason. But this is a terrible thing for people to go through.

I think it's because somewhere they saw a professional photo like that and they think it's chic. But unless it's done really well it just comes off looking weird.
