You could be happily alone, but you cannot be happy being surrounded by "annoying" people.

Being an introvert and a shy guy, I find tranquility when I am home alone. I could do whatever I want however I want and be whoever I am without further unnecessary distractions, responsibilities, vigilance, obligations and criticism

Having someone with me will make all the other annoying people more tolerable than being sad and lonley.
