I am getting 062.

1) if 7, 3 and 8 as numbers are out then that means that in '780' 0 is correct but incorrectly placed. So that means that it can be in either the 1st or 2nd slot.
2) If in '206' two are correct but wrong placed, then that means that zero can not be in the 2nd slot either. So that MUST mean it is in the 1st.

3) If in '682' one is correct and placed correctly then it can not be 6, because the 1st slot is taken. That means that 2 takes up the 3rd slot.
4) That leaves the middle slot for 6

If we believe that 6 is correct (from the 1st box), then it becomes wrong as per the 2nd box. It means that the correct number is 2 and its place is last (right).

Coming to the 2nd box again. The answer is between 1 and 4. It must be 4 because it is located at the last (right) place and it is said that the correct number is at the wrong place.

It will then be either 012 or 042. I'll let you work the details. [042 is correct answer, why?]

042 is correct because we conluded that 2 has to be in o the right, so xx2. We concluded that 0 was correct, but if '780' said that it was wrong placed at the right, whereas '206' implied that it was wrongplaced in the middle, leaving only the left. Which meant 0x2.
The only lead as to which is the middle one comes from '614' - out of these, only one is correct but wrong placed. It can not be 6 at the left, because it'd then contradict iself with '682' which implies that only one (2) is correct and well placed.

That leaves just the number 4.

well done :) You may also that 1 will be omitted, because it can only be in the middle, as you correctly deduced that 0x2 is the code. But then 1 would be well-placed, contradiction. Therefore 042 is the only possibility.

4. Box 2 - one number is correct and wrongly placed. So 2, 6, 1, 4 are new possibilities.

2 and 0 must be in it because of hint 3 and the above, the other digit is 1 or 4 from hint 2.
8 is not in it because of hint 4, neither are 3 or 7.
2 is the last digit because it is well placed in hint 1.
0 is the first digit because it is wrongly placed in hints 3 and 5.
The final (middle) digit must be 4, not 1, because 1 would have been well placed in hint 2.

Ok. Just looked at it again. 042 seems to be correct.

1. 738 is wrong meaning all of these numbers aren't involved.
2. 780 means the one correct number is 0, but it needs to be on the first or second spot.
3. 206 has the 0 in it which is correct and once again in the wrong position. Thus the first number of the combination is 0. The other correct one is either 2 or 6.
4. 682 has one number correct and well placed. Since the first number is already known to be 0 it therefore can't be 6. Thus we now have 0x2
5. 614 has the 6 in it which it can't be. Thus it must be 1 or 4. Since it's right number, wrong place and the 1 would be in the right place already it must be 4.

Thus 042
