What is the point of an implied nude photoshoot?

The model goes through the effort of being naked and making sexual poses in front of the photographer and set, but the only pictures taken are ones where she's covering her breasts with her hands or where her legs are crossed.

What's the point of being nude in the first place if you're not even going to show anything?

Several reasons:
- they want to show off their body without having their private parts on display
- it gives the photo a more tasteful vibe than straight up showing her crotch and chest which can come off as vulgar

What about the ones where the pose and facial expression are clearly sexual but they still hide their breasts?

I have seen full nude photoshoots that look a lot more tasteful and artistic than some of the ones where they try to cover themselves.

Yeah i model. There are a lot of reasons why it would be implied, way more than I listed. It all depends on the model/photographer. And you're right about some fully nude photos being more tasteful than implied but it all depends on the look the photographer is going for and what the model is comfortable with.

Even if the pictures that are released don't show anything, doesn't the photographer and everyone else on set get to see them completely naked. I mean, I doubt they keep themselves covered throughout the entire duration of the shoot.

It seems weird they would feel comfortable beingcompletely nude while making sexual poses in front of a room full of strangers, but then wouldn't feel comfortable with those pictures being released for people who they will never meet to see. And when you expose 95% of your body to the public it seems silly to be so guarded just over the nipples.

Nope. I would do implied if it was done in a classy/beautiful way and not trashy.

No the internet and the crew are completely different things. With the photographer you form trust and it's a very professional setting. Nothing is sexualized, the photographer isn't taking pics with a boner. It's strictly professional. It's like getting a tattoo on your butt - you need to show your butt to the artist in order to get the job done but that doesn't mean you want the world to see your butt.
On the internet it's completely different. Many people aren't comfortable having their nude photos out there. They don't want people to know what their privates look like. And you can make the same argument about bikinis. They cover the exact same parts so why don't we just swim nude? Because regardless of the logic, those parts are sexualized and not everyone is comfortable for those photos to be freely floating around the internet

With implied are they usually completely naked or is it common for them to wear pasties or skin colored thongs?

A lot of photoshoots just look so sexual. Unless the guy is gay I don't understand how he can't be at least a little arroused.

Pasties are optional I would assume but I think they would avoid thongs because you will be able to see it and you want there to be as little editing necessary as possible.
