What is empowering about posting half naked pictures on the Internet?

The line about empowerment is just bullshit. It's attention seeking. The only thing that empowers is the validation and if you need that validation then you are not empowered, you are beholden.

Not needing validation for superficial reasons is empowering.

I think it's the comfortable in your own skin. Some are doing it for attention. Those that are being genuine I think that's the message, to be comfortable with yourself.

I think it's most likely a combination of all of those things that you mentioned. I think it's probably like getting a tattoo jumping out of an airplane or eating spicy food. You get a rush from it. From there every food gets a little spicier every jump gets a little higher and every picture gets a little more naked.

I think its both but i think for attention its the person ur sending it to only and u have to be comfortable in ur own skin to do so for me i think if two people are chatting and wanti g to get to know each other or for what ever reasons. But they both have to agree to it i think its ok. I dont think its meant for anyone else to see

I don't know, but I think behind it all is money sex sells even if it's just selling sex (images) and a lot of people are very drawn to it male and female alike. I do feel it poses as being comfortable in your own skin but also too much and it's definitely just vanity. But it is a successful business and a lot of people get paid for it.
